Interested in Opening a Strip Club in New York

Hi everyone,

I have two ideas for very profitable businesses. Firstly, the main one, is a strip club in the New York City/Long Island area. I know the industry well and also have the business know how, I just dont have the capital. If anyone is interested in putting up some serious capital and becoming my biz partner let me know.

Secondly, a reality pornography website in which we would shoot our own porn of a specific genre and put it on a pay site. This is a billion dollar industry, and a very popular of segment of it. This would obviously be much cheaper to start up, so I would need someone with less capitial and more movie/film experience (I have none) than the strip club.

Please let me know, partners interested in the club would obviously have to live in the New york area, however anyone interested in the porn website can be from anywhere (I will travel to you if needed).

Thanks everyone!

Note to admin: I do refer to adult material but in no way intend to offend anyone or post, display or discuss adult content now or in future.

thanks for posting, but something doesn't make sense

to "know the industry" one would have to have worked in the industry, and to know it "well" one would have to have been successful in the industry and have had made some money - because the opposite (not being successful) is a sign that one has a poor knowledge of the industry

so it's an oxymoron. either the founder has been sucessful, and therefore knows the industry well, and threfore has seed capital, or the founder has not been sucessful, doesn't have the seed money and therefore, deductively prevented from knowing an industry well

so it doesn't make sense that a person can know an industry well and not have seed funding

maybe someone has worked in the industry just doesn't have the startup cash available. he's just looking for capital dont bust his balls to bad.

you can't honestly believe if you know something well, that means you have the funding to start a business.

i dunno....and that's a great question

i really want to know how any one can predict whether an entrepreneur "knows" and industry

it seems that having made money in the industry is the primary kind of proof

this, of course, is only relevant if an entrepreneur "knowing an industry" is important to sucessful venture outcomes - which it might not be

anyway - yes! I'm saying that "if you know something well, that means you have the funding to start a business" - it's a hypothesis

care to disprove it?

its very possible to simply need mroe capital. who's going to lend money to someone who has no experience? who do you think is trying to raise capital - people who have no experience? who would loan them money

i mean i understand waht your saying to a point, but its kinda extreme.

LENDING money credit and collateral (and proof you have ability to repay)

INVESTMENTS require an experience team

AKULA is right on...at some point, new entrepreneurs have to realize -- real "investors" do not invest in ideas or fancy business plans....as EVERYONE has them.

Track records or an experienced/accomplished team is what gets financing. Saying you "know the industry inside and out" should be something VERIFIABLE by a track record of success.

Stop 100 people in your city and ask them what their BEST idea or invention is for a new business/product/service. You will get 100 GREAT UNIQUE IDEAS -- then ask.....how would you pull it off?

NOW THATS ANOTHER STORY!

If you don't have any money to put in, its hard to convince someone else they should put THEIR money in.

If you do not have a history of success, once again, its hard to convince someone you will be with your "new" idea.

Akula gave the truth (which is often harsh)...more people should try that.

jeesh is this a place to learn, or a place to coddle babies?

By 'knowing the industry" i am refering to the fact that i have friends whom work and run several clubs (not dancers, owners and managers...as well as dancers ). It is true that I do not have actual experience owning a club before, otherwise I probably would have the capitial, however one thing does not necessarily imply the other. Perhaps I ran several very successful clubs before, then fell onto personal / finanicial difficults that were unrelated and now need capitial again.

Regardless, I do kno more about the industry than your average, and it doesnt really take a rocket scientist to run these places. So if anyone is interested or has suggestions let me know . Thanks.
