Talking I need $1 please.

Well, my search for an investor isn't going very well.

So I figured I'd start on a lot smaller scale.

If anyone has paypal and wants to send me $1 to help me get started, I'd really appreciate it!

If you haven't read my other posts, I'm in search of $10,000-$20,000 of capital to help me take care of the costs associated with launching my website. I'm looking for a loan or a potential partnership, if you're interested write me an email!

thanks!

Explain to me what benefit I get out of it? Is your website a charitable or world-saving site? Or are you just walking up to me with a cup of change asking me to give you money so you can go off on your merry way? Basically, why would you think that this would work?

If I understand correctly as of 2:22 pm today you were seeking an investment of $10k-$20k, now at approximately 6:40pm, you are saying you want to start at alot smaller scale.. If your idea is THAT good, why would you only give it a 4 hour chance for survival with such a drastic change? I would suggest going to get a small business loan or private investor. 10-20k is not alot of money. I guess Im a little confused. You need to be more specific as to what your idea has to offer to get a better response. Im sure others here will listen, but you have to give us something to roll with

Today is not the first day I've been looking for an investor. (edit: it is the first day I've been on here though!) Since you read my other posts you know that I have been developing my business for several months. I have been actively seeking funding the entire time, and I haven't come up with anything yet. You will also know that my website and application are now complete, hence my urgency. I have the products ready to go and I'm stuck, becuase I need a bit more money to get it going. I agree, $10,000 - $20,000 is not that much money. I cannot get loans (too many student loans) and a private investor is what I'm LOOKING FOR!

I'm sorry, I'm just a broke college student who is at wit's end. I'm not trying to take your $1 and be "merrily on my way". I'm not trying to "e-beg". I'm just trying to get my business of the ground, and improve my life. If you want to help me, then thank you.

and jmenq2: if you live in the US, then yes, my website could be considered charitable to you. I plan on offering free services that should benefit every US citizen. If you are outside of the US, then you're right, you wouldn't get anything.

I didn't create this post to bring out the negativity in people, on the contrary, my intentions were quite the opposite of that.

ceo77: kind of.... I actually copied someone else's idea though. I saw a post that was essentially exactly the same as mine except the dude was saying he needed $1 more to pay for his amazon order or something...

I'm looking for it right now I'll try and link it

I need one dollar.

people seem a bit nicer over there... too bad he beat me to it!

and I'm telling the truth too! at least I didn't make up some phony story about needing $1 more.... sheesh you guys here are harsh!

can't you see the possibilities with this though? imagine if I created this thread, then did the social-bookmarking thing, and linked to the thread in other places.... that's a lot of potential donations I could be getting from all the random views I would get! That could take care of my lack of funds pretty quickly if things escalated (hit digg homepage or something equally unlikely). I thought it might be worth a shot.

Why not put together a solid business plan and hit up serious investors? If you already have, I would question your idea. If you haven't, I would question your common sense. Either way, begging for $1-5 dollar donations makes me question your desparation.

Seems to me like a lot of us here have been working hard for their money and just don't give it away that easily. Maybe that's what made us where we are...we make smart decisions with our money. I have, at times, worked more than one job to meet the expenses...you may have to do it too.

wow. I honestly didn't expect people to be so stingy. I just donated $5 to a cause I support, and now I'm asking for $1 donations. I think THAT'S my problem.

And please don't presume to know about my life.

I am a full-time college student, working a full-time job 5 days a week and a part-time job on the weekends. I simply do not have time to work more, or I would. It wouldn't take me that long to raise $5000, which is all I need to get the application online, I just couldn't afford everything else. And I refuse to abandon my education no matter how lucrative my idea may be (I'm almost done with school )

I do have a business plan, my professors helped me develop it. The reason I don't hit up serious investors is because:
a. I don't have time to drive to Minneapolis
b. I wouldn't know who to talk to in Minneapolis anyways
c. I don't want to talk to anyone from Minneapolis who is going to want 50% of my business, I only need $20,000 at most, so I'm not willing to give away that big of a chunk
d. In all honesty, I don't have the experience to go into contract with an investor and not get f***ed.

@LiveWise: if being stingy is "thats what made us where we are" then perhaps I want to end up some place different. AND if "making smart decisions with our money" entails heavy scrutinization of a $1 donation, then I DEFINITELY want to end up some place different. Sorry, it just pissed me off when you told me to work more I would if I could!

I don't mean to get defensive, but DAMN people, I'm just askin for a little love!
I don't need you to tell me I'm stupid or unwise with my money or don't work enough or "e-beg" or anything.... if that's all you can muster in a comment then please don't even leave one. I'm trying a creative way (NOT my creativity!) to raise up a bit of extra cash to help me DO SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE, you don't have to hate.....

SO.... here's an alternative:

Since so many people are seeing this (43 viewing forum as I write this) how about going here:

Digg - Young web entreprenuer starts out the hard way....

and offering your support in a non-financial way by digging the story?

I would really appreciate it!
