Post How to get investors for a publishing company I want to launch?

I have hundreds of ideas for companies I want to start in various industries but many will cost millions of dollars to start, so I went through my ideas and picked out one that is a great concept and will be easier to start out of all the ideas.

I want to start a book publishing company. I have a idea that will change the publishing industry and possibly even people's lives.

I'm in the middle of working on a business plan, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a good seed capital business plan? How do I go about getting investments for this industry?

-Thank you

There is an answer to your question. It's complicated. You are basically asking about the sorts of things you can do to attract money. It's a big list.

One of these things is to stop having ideas. Money is not attracted to ideas. It's attracted to market opportunities. An opportunity is different to idea because there is proof that on the balance of probabilities, this opportunity can generate better IRR that other, competing opportunities of similar scale.

Learn how to translate ideas into opportunities and that's one important thing you can do to attract money.

I haven't read through the posts, but "how to get investors" did seem to interest me a bit.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if you have a good enough idea, investors will approach YOU. Typically, a good idea (well, at least the initial stages of an actual service) is picked up by big blogs, many of which big VC's tend to read. I've seen this happen on a couple of different occasions... Don't get me wrong, there are times where the investors are just blind and need you to show them what's up... But not usually.

I'm not sure about inventions, but I was leaning more towards new services and software "tools". Some good ones are Ajaxian, TechCrunch, Digg (okay, not exactly a blog... but still), etc..
