Hosting Business
I am 15, but am determined to start up a hosting business. I plan on starting with website hosting, then moving into voice server hosting (Teamspeak), and then moving into Game Servers.
I am looking for 1-2 business partners who are willing to invest in such a business, as I know how to go about this, but capital is an issue when you're a minor.
Would anyone here be interested?

I'll be quite honest with you... the hosting industry is too saturated and its falling out-of-hand with these ridiculously made hosting plans so I wouldn't suggest highly in getting involved in the hosting industry what-so-ever unless you have a "unique" position to offer a service greater then others.

Yea the hosting industry has become quite saturated. What I do now instead of just offering hosting plans I offer free hosting for one month to my client who has purchased a website design from me. Believe it or not that's the only way I get customers.

Online Game Server is a good business.... in Asia most specially, if you can check out games like (RAGNAROK, KHAN etc). These companies earned millions hosting game servers and doing the Online RPG (MMORPG) business, needs a lot of creativity, ideas, and of course expert developers

John J. just wondering are you an IT expert? if so then maybe you could give hosting service to IM aka. Internet Marketers in warriorforum.com . what I notice is, they like to get PERSONAL (one on one) service hosting for their business.
maybe it is a niche you could try

John,
There are a lot of competitors in the web hosting business, unless you are marketing your business offline and target local business wanting to take their business online. The only problem then is you need to understand the implementations of taking a business online and the risks to a customer, whether you offer your client a interactive website or just passive brochure ware, and the client would want to know the benefits of his/her business being online.
The big brand names on the Internet will be easily spending $40,000+ per week on advertising and branding themselves.
But good luck all the same.
Chris

Game Servers would probably be the best area to go into, but as every one else has pointed out this is a saturated market with little prospects. Although new hosting companys are emerging its because they can offer the hosting cheaper than anyone else, and for you to do this there needs to be a large initial outlay... good luck though.

What would be nice is having instant SEO help and listings. For example, I buy hosting from you, and get my domain name for free. Within a week, my domain name is on Yahoo and Google with top 50 listings for specific key words. That, my friend, would draw my attention more than any other gimics.

How does Game hosting work? Im guessing its a server for online gaming, but do you rent a server and then connect to a game. Where does the money come from. Are you selling game servers?
