Full design/print studio looking for investor or partner

Hi,
I currently run a small design/print studio with a team of 5 including myself. We do all design and marketing work as well as printing and apparel development.

I am looking to grow the business and be able to do more of our work in house instead of outsourcing it.

Example: We screen print but do not do embroidery. I also want to be able to move into a new studio/office space so we have more room and a better atmosphere where clients can come in and view samples and discuss jobs.

I live in Gainesville,FL which is home of the UF Gators and there is so much potential for me to grow the business here.

Just a screen printing company alone would do amazing in this town but we offer much much more then that. We even have guys that do custom radio ads.

Basically I am wanting to turn my web design and print company into a full multi media production studio.

I would love feedback whether its about investing or just advice.

Thanks in advance.

My email is info@makeascenenow.com

I am also trying to expand my clothing lines from just tee shirts to other high end items such as jeans, shoes, hats. It is all under the same company and any investments will be used both ways.

My suggestion would be to look for a business partner, rather than an investor. I think that someone who is willing to work hard with you to grow the business organically will be of more value than an investor.

Many small businesses like yours could really benefit from someone with strong sales and marketing skills, so you may want to look for those skills in a potential partner.

I agree. Sometimes its hard to find someone that fits both parts for what I am looking for.

I'd say a business partner would be the best idea. You sound like you have a lot of ideas, so maybe look for someone with experience in clothing, so you can focus on your web design and other things.

If I was in your position, I'd try to build up slowly rather than looking for an investment. This way you could build up the companies profits until you can rent or buy a larger office space, investing in yourself.

Well the clothing is really the part where I shine and the studio I mostly run.
I want to go ahead and get the studio in a new place and making a little more cash so that I can start the clothing line I really want.

The people who work for my design studio also design with me with apparel so I would like to get them some better space and just get everything set up for the whole thing.
