Fresh Idea for Online Magazine. Huge Potential!

Im going to be setting up an online magazine. It's going to be mostly humor, aimed at young adults and college students. I have the domain, hosting, and website ready to go, I just need good quality content. I have tons of ideas for this project, including what content we need etc.
The website will have video, audio, pictures, and text articles. What I'm looking for is a group of people who can write humorous articles, get funny pictures and video (must be original) or whatever funny stuff we can get our hands on etc. I will provide compensation down the road. You should run contests on campus and advertise in Craigslist and reward only the winning writers - these are the folks you keep on as staff

consider making a deal - $5 the $6 the $7 etc all the way up to $50 dollars per piece

by the time they get up to $20 they will write excellent posts and you can slow them down and make sure they write quality

How will you make money, and what are your projected start up costs projected 3 yrs out? . If you're planning on making money off ads, then its going to be a tough sell until you get enough traffic. What state do you live in? Just curious.

Money will come mostly from ads. Theres a possibility someday (if popularity is great enough) the magazine will actually go into print.
Start up costs should be basically nothing, I already own the domain, hosting, and have the site ready to launch. The only costs I see would be advertising.

Sound like a good idea. I'm 18 and a fan of College Humour and similar sites.

Thought about an iPhone app, I'd do it for a % of the app sales/in app ads if interested?

pay the people by activity on the respective article content. ie... hits, comments, permalinks and weed out the fake content by ip address. Let's say .01 per hit and .03 per comment.
