Equity Partners for Web Venture

I'm undertaking the development of a new online venture - a domain name renting service.

The service will be branded to 'Esbro.com' and allows domain name owners to add their domains to the system servers and rent the domains to advertisers/webmasters.

Here's a quick overview

EARN REVENUE FROM YOUR DOMAINS

Adding your domains to the Esbro.com system comes with many benefits. You can earn revenue from your domains without having to do any work at all. It is as simple as changing the name servers at your domain registrar and letting Esbro.com market your domains for rent. There is no charge to you for having your domains on the Esbro system and you are only charged 10% of the total rental contract amount, payable each month.

Heres a short breakdown of the process:

1. Sign up on Esbro.com (bulk domain signups available)

2. Change your name servers at your domain registrar to the Esbro.com service name servers

3. Esbro.com markets your domains for rent

4. Once someone wants to rent your domain, a complete and easy-to-use escrow system handles the transaction between you and the leasor.

GET YOUR CONTENT ON HIGH RANKING AND RELEVANT DOMAINS

Renting a domain lets advertisers and webmasters put their content on sought-after domains with already established Page Rank, backlinks and traffic for a fraction of the purchase price.

Use our search service to find the domains best suited to your content and do a deal quickly and easily with the domain owner using the Esbro.com escrow service, free of charge.

Development is now well under way and I'm now looking at implementation strategies.

If you are interested in being a part of this development (either equity or working on the project) please post here or shoot me a PM.

Cheers

Unfortunately, I am not quite seeing this being very popular, if you have any proven bits of information for this web venture I would be more than happy to take a look into it and possibly further a decision, thank you,
-Geoff

Hi Geoff, if you take a look at leasethis.com you will see the kind of success that a similar concept has had. However, my app differs in various ways that will make the entity more attractive to domain owners and renters. I also have different ideas for monetization of this service.

Namedia, i think this has potential. After all, domains are just virtual estate. So i cant see why you cant rent a domain as you would real estate.
PM some more details or even better email me at nick.wells@live.co.uk

Regards,
Nick

Sounds interesting. DNS systems can be.... finicky at best but I think you will get better results by doing the system with DNS modification. My quick browse of leasethis shows that they typically use redirects.

the prices on leasethis seem steep, $20-30/month for a domain name? Well i guess you only need to rent one in 24 names to break even.

I'd be interested to know the technical details of the incarnation your working on. leasethis has poor technical documentation.

Brian, Yes I agree with what you have said about leasethis and the development team and myself are working to make esbro technically better and much better in terms of services provided to the user/user experience. I also disagree with the scale of prices at leasethis.com, of course it depends on quality of the domain name but for most domains I believe a reasonable price would be around $5-$8 per month. Domains with PR, traffic and age would obviously attract much higher prices though. I will send relevant PM's and emails shortly, thanks Nick and Ben
