Creating a Site to Overtake Google Images

yes, u read that correctly, i am in the first stages of creating a site that i hope will become the internet leader in digital pictures/images. every image will be submitted by users so users really build the content of the site as well as govern the site. all images that people upload will be free for anyone else to copy and use for whatever purpose, no need to worry about copyrighted images or whatnot, it is a free collaboration of digital pictures. imagine wikipedia but of images. it will be free for everyone to use and will generate revenue from ads. why will this idea work? because i have come up with a clever interface which will appeal to people above and beyond anything else out there which is the key to the success of the site. i will not talk about this interface further until people have signed non-disclosure agreements.

so why am i writing about this here? because i do web design. i do not write scripts or create graphics. so i am looking for 3 people who are interested in being partners. i need two people who are very good in php, flash, sql and one person who is talented in designing and graphics to create what is needed for the site. i will handle the web design/layout.

i am not looking for money from anyone, nor am i willing to pay anyone anything. there will be five of us that co-own the site. i would like to retain 30% ownership and the other 3 people will evenly split the remaining 70% ownership.

i figure at the worst this site will cost nothing to produce but our time and at best we can hit it big, so really the only thing that anyone is willing to commit is their time.

if you are interested in joining me in this venture and have the experience that i require please email me at NAM6641@aol.com. i am located in Connecticut, USA but am willing to work with people anywhere in the world.

-Chris

I agree its a very competiive market to get into, but there is a tiny gap for a dedicated image search engine, however dont think it was wise to post your idea here, but your choice. If you need any help as i have experience in advertising or i can do any donkey work that you need doing.

A dedicated image search engine..i have never seen it before. It is not entirely unique with google image search, and almost every other search engine with image search.
However it is, as i said, unique...I think it has a good chance in succeding.

I understand that stock images are a good area for image searches, with pretty much all websites using them, there is a brilliant oppertunity here...and i want to be involved.

hundreds have tried and all have failed

i agree its a nice niche but you would need to find a way to make yourself way different as akula said there are bunches of them out there.

i understand there are search sites out there, but like i said my concept hinges around my interface. it is not a 'pure' search engine. it is more interactive, like an experience as opposed to a pure search. it is actually a really cool idea and i am not posting the idea here because this is what will drive my site to differentiate itself from everyone elses.

at any rate, if anyone knows programmers please send them this way. i'll wait 2 more days to see if anyone else wants to be a part of it and then i'll email whoever is interested as a group.
