Buisness Plan: Looking For Investor

Hello, it's me again and I'm looking for an investor. After what happened last time I decided I would make a buisness plan. I am looking for an investment of around $1500.

1. I am looking to build a PS3 news site. My website would be designed similar to PS3 Fanboy and TripleChat.com.

2. My website would also have a forum.

3. I would launch this site as an official partner of PS3Trophies.org so that I can get some members.

4. For the blog, I will use Wordpress (Free). For the forum I will use vBulletin ($450). I will purchase Adobe Dreamweaver ($399) to design the web pages.

5. I already have someone lined up who will program the website. He charges $10 an hour and he will take 5 days max.

6. The website will be called PS3Fanboy and it will be aimed at European PS3 users but Americans will be free to join too.

7. I hav started contacting developers to let them know about my site and so far, one or two have agreed to send me one copy of their future games to review. They will also let us do interviews and give us exluisive screenshots and stuff.

8.
After I review the game the developer sends me I will have a raffle. Tickets could be $5 each and if 100 people buy tickets that's $500. That is how I will make money back.

9. I gaurantee you, you will get all your money back and some extra for having faith and investing in me.

Send me a PM if you have any questions or if you are interested in investing.

First, you want to call it PS3FanBoy but there already is a site called that?

Second, use a free forum script and save yourself $450.

Third, use wordpress for the whole site and you don't need Dreamweaver, saving you another $399.

Anyone who takes 5 days to setup a blog with a forum isn't a programmer you want. If they charge $10 an hour you really don't want them. If you can't do it yourself, get it done on rentacoder for under $100.

No one is going to buy raffle tickets to win the review copy of the game. You could sell it on ebay though and get some money for it that way- although you usually aren't supposed to sell review copies at all (Or raffle them off) so you better come up with a different revenue generation plan (advertising, membership, ecommerce sales)

You can't guarantee anyone their money back, so you shouldn't say that you can. You should also definitely expect they will get "some extra" because otherwise it isn't an investment, or even a loan -more of just a favor.

So, I've saved you $1000 bucks, or 2/3 of your startup requirements. You're welcome. All you need to do in exchange is explain, in four sentences or less, why your site is going to be different and/or better than the competition in a way that will attract visitors and traffic to the site. Ready? Go...

I have already contacted PS3Fanboy and they have given me permission to use PS3Fanboy.eu.

Obviously, you have never used free forum before 'cause they suck.

I've seen sites that use Wordpress for everything and they look good but I want mine to looking, how could I put it, next-gen.

Setting up a blog and a forum is much more complicated than you may think. Also, I am very fussy so when he is done, I am pretty sure I will want him to make some changes. $10 an hour sounds like a reasonable enough rate to me.

After talking to PS3Fanboy they have said that most of the review copies they get are the exact same as the copy that is sold in retail units. That wasn't my only idea to make money. I was planning to give forum user the option to suscribe and then they would get some extra feature (bigger signature sizes, news delivered straight to their e-mail, let them view trailers in 1080p etc; etc; etc.) Also, I would allow for some advertising on my site which the suscribers wouldn't have to see. I'm also considering having a shop that sells PS3 games and accessories though I'm not sure about that one yet.

I know I can't guarantee anyone their money back but I'm pretty confident that I will make that much money back, at least. The money will not come flooding in straight away, it will take a few weeks before everything is fully up and running and we have lots of members.

I know, I just posted that just in-case anyone thought otherwise.

1. This website will be a website 'by games, for gamers'. Only people who have a genuine interest in gaming and know what they are talking about will get a writers position on the blog.

2. We will be linked to PS3Trophies and we will have features other gaming news sites do not have (trophy tracking, a forum, game nights, etc; etc; etc.) We will also have a partnership with Playfire for their new trophy tracking gamercards.

3. My website will have a community feel about it whuch most gaming news sites do not have. The forum also helps bring the community closer and people will be happy that they have a place to voice their opinions. Most gaming news sites don't have forums, at least not good forums.

I have everything ready, I just don't have the money. That's why I'm looking for an investor, hopefully I'll get one as I'm quite confident in with my buisness plan...

Sorry for double posting but I've got some good news for myself and any potential investors.

I have just had a long chat with the web programmer I have hired for this website and he has told me that I don't need to provide any of the programs (vBulletin, Dreamweaver or Photoshop) so that means I don't need as much money naymore.

So, I am now looking for only $700, up to $500 for the website programmer and the other $200 is to advertise the site buy prizes in the early days of the site.

If you invest I will pay you back all your money and more. So, go on, do the right thing and invest in me. If I get an investor now the site could be live for the first week in August.

PM if you're interested in investing...

If you got a job now, the site could be live by August, and you wouldn't owe any of it to anyone. Or why not get the programmer to be the investor? Although, again, I have to say a programmer working for $10/hour, unless they are in Eastern Europe or India or China isn't likely to be the winner you are hoping for. But, I can see you aren't too interested in advice, so why don't you just let us all know how it turns out when you're done.

I'm not interested in getting a job for myself at the moment. I got the programmer on Freelance Jobs & Freelancers - iFreelance.com and he has had three past project reviews and the people he worked for all said he had a top-class service.

I have two people interested in investing on a different site, so, I'll let you know what happens with the website.
