Hi to all members of Young entrepreneur,
I have already posted this thread before but only got a couple of replies, I've spent some time looking at the market for this website and whether it could be done, which it could with hard work.
Just a little bit about myself. I'm a 16 year old, business student at college, I have great passion for business and making lots of money. Once I feel I have a solid foundation to a business idea I am committed to the key success of it and this idea has a good foundation. I have been thinking lately about business ventures which I could take on at my age of 16 and there isn't many of interesting options.
Initial Idea
I've seen a possible gap in the market for an Online-tycoon web-based game. There is only one other website like this at the current time, the potential for revenue is huge !!! The game on their website runs in 70 day periods where people can sign up and pay for the premium online game membership. In the current 70 day period they have had :
* Estimated at lest 200 Premium users - charging $8.00 for every season of 70 days
* Maths - 200 x 8.00 = $1,600 or £750 for 70 days
You must be able to see that this has huge potential by now ?
I require investors, partners web designers or developers. Partners will be asked to do part time work for the website which will include:
- Promoting the website via forums, emails (no spamming) and any other promotional methods on the internet
- Helping with new ideas for the website
- Any other duties that you are willing to fulfill
Partners willing to give up any spare time to help with this project will be entitled to a 4% equity in the business. If any designers or developers could help me succeed I would be extremely grateful, I do not have any complex computing language skills, so if a designer was in on this project I would be taking care of the majority of the marketing, business planning etc. Any designers who would like to take on this project and build the website similar to tycoononline.nu, would get a payment of £350 and a 4% equity stake in the business, any designers interested can email me at Millermitc@aol.com.
The initial plan of the site would involve internet marketing using the key e-marketing mix initially to promote the website. Some ideal promotional methods would be: -
- Forum posts
- Web Banners
- Business cards
- Press releases - My local newspaper etc
- Viral Marketing (Emails)
- Multiple Domain Name Purchases
I personally would set year 1 budgets and estimated expenditure as following based on selling at least 500 memberships on the first year of set-up (Selling 500 memberships would give a fund of $4,000 or £1900:
-Website marketing, £400
-Website Development Through year 1 (Bug Fixes, Version Updates), £700
-Equity Returns, £190
-Hosting Costs, £200
-Personal Return on Investment, £260
-Profit, £150
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
I have been given numerous quotes by designers for this project and I could no way near afford it. This is some of the information:
Project Time (Average) - 45 days
Project Cost (Average) - $700 or £360
Future Development
The ideal future development for the website would be to continuously improve the system so that it has more and more features that allow better user functionality and simulation play, this constant development of the site would be used to help eliminate threats and competition. Secondly would be to get it into all secondary schools around the UK as a GCSE Business educational tool. This would be highly profitable as there has to be at least over 1000 secondary schools.
What would be on offer ?
If any Designers or Developers would be willing to help then I would offer
- Designers, £350 and a 4% equity stake.
- Developers a yearly budget of £700 would be given to you to update the website (bug fixes, version updates etc) and includes you're wages. I would also would be willing to give a 5% equity stake to any developers.
As for any partners willing to help with this they will be given a 4% equity stake in the business for a minimum of a two year partnership. Your duties will include the listed above in the thread.
If you have any questions, suggestions or advice please post or email me @ Millermitc@aol.com
