Question Anyone Else Out There?

Throughout the past year, I have (on more than one occasion), taken on business partners, 'protoge's, and interns... But to no avail. More often than not, the people that are interested and excited about a project or venture quickly lose interest.

I invest a great deal of time and effort into every venture that I am involved in, but for some reason, can not find the same passion in anyone else. I guess it is the nature of entrepreneurship- we are so used to devoting everything and putting ourselves completely into a project that we expect those around us and those that we work with to show the same level of dedication.

It would be great to find someone to fall back on, as interested in starting and running a successful business as I am. With all of the failures in this particular experiment, I'm still willing to keep looking... Has anyone else had this problem? Any successes in finding business partners??

Hi Paul,

I have had this same problem in the past. I tried everything to try and find people who would be committed and last. Eventually I gave up and I tackle everything solo now. If I need help I pay someone to do it.

This is normal, particularly when you are young. Keep an eye out for other passionate entrepreneurs and bear them in mind when you start your next project. Don't partner just for the sake of it, make sure your partners will add to the whole, or hire employees.

I own a small business/startup consulting agency, and do some other work on the side. I have been working on a modeling/talent agecy, and have a list of former projects available for those that are interested.

It all boils down to human nature, really.

It has nothing to do with age or anything else.

The fact of the matter is, most people are followers not leaders, and most people don't have any real passion for anything.

You need look no further than this very forum for proof.

YE claims to have over 10,000 members. Yet 98% don't contribute to the forum in any way, shape or form.

That's just the way it is, in business and in life.

Don't try to figure it out. Don't try to analyze it.

Accept it for what it is and proceed accordingly.
