Assuming your talking 9.2% --- the answer is still no to the fact their being a 9.2% per annum interest rate.

The "its per annum" statement is false, here's some research --- I searched Westpac and did not see any mention on the entire site that it was 9.2% "per annum" --- I only seen a 6.50% 11 month term deposit account mentioned. Nothing more then that. Therefore Westpac (not seeing any proof on the site) does not have a 9.2% "per annum" account. That is based off of doing a "site search" with their "search module" and looking through their investments accounts and savings accounts.

Bank of New Zealand have no 9.2% per annum neither... this should say it all: http://www.bnz.co.nz/Rates_and_Fees/...1-2502,FF.html (Investment Accounts) --- http://www.bnz.co.nz/Rates_and_Fees/...20-187,00.html (Savings Accounts) ... No 9.2% per annum listed.

Lastly... same stands for "The National Bank" located in New Zealand (not to be confused with the U.S. Bank called by the same name.) Here is proof for that: http://www.nbnz.co.nz/personal/rates...rmdeposits.asp (Investment Account)http://www.nbnz.co.nz/personal/rates...allsavings.htm (Savings Accounts)

So how is 9.2% being offered by the banks that you've listed?

Nice research son!!! How long has it taken for someone to get off their ass and find out the truth??? I just proved my point that there is a lot of fluff being tossed around this forum without any backup or research of what people are saying. Alot (not all) just take peoples word for things that are said without really finding things out for themselves. 5 stars ***** to you dusty...

^^ 'Em, yeah, I guess, but don't you find it harsh to "insult" them people. Surely, research is the key to unlocking the truth... but that is really shooting down the common person who may "try" every now and then.

Other then that, I think all points have been made, debates between agreeing and disagreeing have been exposed and therefore this topic should jump back to what it was originally tended for...

UK Banks offer higher rates.

Just to let you all know.

Abbey National in the UK offers 12% APR on the condition that you open a current account at the same time. Halifax offers 10% on the same conditions.
You also have to add to it a fixed amount over a fixed time. (eg. $400/month over 12months)

The idea is to lure new customers in with a extremely high savings account rate on the condition that they open a current account. That way all their banking is done in the same place. You cannot simply save at 12% there and run your other finances somewhere else.

It is difficult to set up if you are not a resident in the UK but not impossible.

Its just something for you all to look into.

If you're posting bullsh*t here then I just blocked you so I never have to read one of your posts again. If that's the reputation you want in business- someone never to be trusted- then you just earned yourself that badge.
