That's great news! What would the bulk of the new capital be used for. Are you building production facilities? For that amount of money you are typically looking at either a group of angels or venture capital. In either case you'll need a polished business plan and a proven case as to why this is a great opportunity and what this money will be used for.

If you go the venture capital route first try to do your homework and narrow down a list of potential VC firms. For instance, you do not want to even bother approaching a firm that solely invests in biotech start-ups.

You will also need to be prepared to lose a substantial stake in the company as the investors will want a significant stake for that investment.

Personally, I am more of a fan of bootstrapping and creative financing versus going through VCs or Angels. If you want shoot me an email or another PM and we can talk about your specific situation more.

Good Luck!

-Dan

Yes, we have a company called"MASTERPLANZ" doing the business plan for us. They can be reached at www.masterplanz.com. They provided me with many references, which I recommend calling them all. We should all be aware of the many scams out there when it comes to finding a company that does business plans.
The funds will be dispursed as follows: Around $1.1 Million will be used for Production, with $900 Thousand invested in an Office/ Warehouse. The rest will be used for Advertising, Marketing, and Expenses.
If I had my personal choice, I would spend around $3 Million on Marketing, then another $2 for everything else.....but the world is not as easy as 1,2,3
If there are any other questions or comment, all are welcome.
Thank you.

I'm just curious as to how much involvement you guys have in the business plan. Do you give them guidelines and they write it, is it a collaborative effort or do they do it entirely on their own?

Well said.

Threed, how did you get into the wheels business? I've been looking into auto - related businesses as I am a pretty big car nut myself.... As for your website... will I be able to order wheels off the site (a la Tirerack) or will I have to buy from a middleman (a la Tirerack)? P.S.... Let us all know when the site goes live!!!

Wow, that really is something... so what kind of ride you gonna be cruisin' around in to show off the wheels? My personal suggestion... either an H2 or a Lotus Elise... who doesn't look at a yellow hummer rollin' around on 26"s, and the Lotus... nothin' like it on the road - another real head - turner in lime or orange. Good Luck with everything and I'll probably be placing an order within a year (as long as they're in my price range)...haha, VOMIT... that's clever!
