    Zomg Bots

    FIX THIS!!!!

This is totally outrageous, isn't there a "visual confirmation" step in the registering process where you have to physically key in letters/numbers you see on screen?

And if there isn't, can we get one, and in the meantime can some mods clear some of this shxt out?

Or mod me and I'll do it, lol.

I don't mean to be disrespectful towards the mod/admin community, but the bots make me want to not come here anymore, and I imagine others feel the same way, and it'd be a shame for the whole community to fall through the cracks because of something preventable.

I always try to include some sort of captcha or verification question on every web form I create these days, else the bots will find it.

When I owned a VBulletin forum I swear there was a mod that was pretty easy to implement. It might have even been built into the software.

new bots these days can get past captchas, I've used some, not on here though. There are additional measures that need to be taken to fully stop spam, I keep those a secret. They aren't very hard to find out if you do some research though.

Yeah, I use a random addition problem where they actually have to type in the answer. Works like a charm (for now).
