You're an entrepreneur—what are you like?

Everybody, I'm hoping to get a good idea of what the typical entrepreneur is like. I'm targeting entrepreneurs and small business owners for my graphic-design business. I'd love to know what you and your businesses are like, what your goals are, where you operate your businesses and any other details that may help me get to know you and your business needs.
    • What do I need to do to serve you and gain your confidence?
    • Do you need business collateral designed?
    • Do you need custom-designed logos, illustrations, animations, and other business promotion graphics?
    • How might you seek graphic-design services—locally, over the internet, or both?
    • What would you like to see on my website that could make your business with me go smoothly and inspire you to convert?
    • What is your preferred way to pay for graphic services; check, money order, credit card, Paypal?
    • What turns you off or makes you feel cautious when seeking graphic-design services?
    • Are you already getting graphic services? If so, from whom? What's good about the service you use, and how might it be improved?

    Thanks a million!

I am providing the answers below just to help and I don't wish to receive any promotional messages. Thank you.

What do I need to do to serve you and gain your confidence?
A nice portfolio and free consultation.

Do you need business collateral designed?
    Yes.

Do you need custom-designed logos, illustrations, animations, and other business promotion graphics?
    Yes.

How might you seek graphic-design services—locally, over the internet, or both?
    Internet.

What would you like to see on my website that could make your business with me go smoothly and inspire you to convert?
Testimonials of previous clients with a link to their site. Also, it will be great if you can give as much details as possible such as price range and what your design services will include (number of revisions, availability of PSD files, support, coding or just design and so on).

What is your preferred way to pay for graphic services; check, money order, credit card, Paypal?
PayPal. Will only use credit cards for big projects.

What turns you off or makes you feel cautious when seeking graphic-design services?
The crappy design of their site.

Are you already getting graphic services? If so, from whom? What's good about the service you use, and how might it be improved?
Yes. Elance, 99designs.com. Maybe the price can be lower without compromising the quality?

Yes. Networking is very important. You can't overestimate the value of knowing people.

I really like to see a profesional website, with a portflio showing what you can do. It is great if the portfolio has links to the sites your showing. I get turned off when I see grammatical errors, it makes it seem like your just rushing.

I want a one stop shop for services. I may not need them all right away, but I like to know the option is there.

I look for a quick response, I really like getting a real email instead of an auto-response. Even if it is an email stating you will contact me later. Communication is key.

I also like to see price ranges, I like to know what I am getting and what it compares to. Its also nice if you can be fexible or have payment plans.

What payment plans do you prefer? Paypal, credit card, paper check?

    Thanks for the info!

    * What do I need to do to serve you and gain your confidence?
    Preferably, a portfolio.
    * Do you need business collateral designed?
Me personally, no (I design my own), but most business owners do.
    * Do you need custom-designed logos, illustrations, animations, and other business promotion graphics?
    Refer to previous answer.
    * How might you seek graphic-design services—locally, over the internet, or both?
At first, locally, but you can get some awesome quality designs over the internet at low costs. Not to mention, if you outsource the work overseas, the costs drop even further.
    * What would you like to see on my website that could make your business with me go smoothly and inspire you to convert?
A visually pleasing design, information proving you're legit, a portfolio, and definitely contact information.
    * What is your preferred way to pay for graphic services; check, money order, credit card, Paypal?
Me? Cash. Though, accepting credit cards can gain you much more business (you can use PayPal for this as well).

    * What turns you off or makes you feel cautious when seeking graphic-design services?

High initial deposits...I would prefer to pay upon completion (though, a small deposit won't completely turn me off).

    * Are you already getting graphic services? If so, from whom? What's good about the service you use, and how might it be improved?
No input on this one. Again, I design most of my own stuff. Wait, aside from design, usually I need physical marketing materials (i.e. business cards, flyers, signs, etc.). Most printers do all of their graphic design in-house. From my experience, "most" new business owners will seek a printer first and have them design their material before they seek a designer first, then a printer...
