    Yogurt Business - Initial Steps

I am starting up a little Yogurt business in Texas with a friend of mine. Service and industry is similar to what Pinkberry is doing. Now I know we won't have the same success, but we'd like to expose Texans to a similar service. We have guaranteed financial backing up to $100k, although we most likely won't need all of it since it is a small business.

My friend and I have sat down countless times and hashed out the details of what we want to do and how we want to do it. Now we are just looking for a little guidance in where to go professionally and legally.

Some help in where to go would be greatly appreciated. Here is what we are thinking:

    1. Form a legal partnership
    2. Obtain Safety, Zoning, and Food Regulations
    3. Business Insurance
    4. Location
    5. Renovation
    6. Equipment
    7. Materials and Supplies

I'm sure many things are left out. This is why I am posting here, where the knowledge is at.

    Thanks.

    1. You might want to consider an LLC in order to limit your liability. However, you should consult an attorney for legal advice to determine the best business entity for your situation.

Do you have a business plan yet? Not for funding, but for organizing your business.

each state will require different requirements.

How about a federal tax id number?
    seller's permit?

those are just a few things that popped into my head
