    Yellowpages Experiences

    Hi,

I have been paying for a Yellowpages ad for about 6 months now and my business has yet to open. I have about three months left on the terms of the ad. The ad was for a building that I thought I was going to be occupying, only to find out that the building was not feasible. I have thus found a new location and about to place an ad for the new location.

I have asked my franchise about this and they said they have never been in a stiuation like this before. I was advised by one of their employees to place this ad before the deadline. The locations are about 20 minutes apart from each other. I'm just a little upset that I had to pay for this ad and I haven't openend or not going to be opening at that location.

I feel terrible about this as this is my first business mistake and I haven't even opened yet. This is my first business experience and I guess it shows. Do I just take it as a loss?

    Thanks...Robert

Yes, chalk it up a loss and move on. Also, there's a valuable lesson to be learned from your misfortune. Don't buy any advertising until you're actually occupying your location.
