www.gogets.com classifieds (free offer to YE members)

The offer is listed below.... Welcome to GOGETS.COM (launching soon)

This is a free classifieds section similar to all the other ones out there. I’m not going to try and convince anyone that mine will be better than the others.

My classifieds section will start off primarily automotive as this is where I have the most contacts. I have set-up a deal with Capital Auto Auction to list all 1000 units that they have for sale each week. This will give me a continuous stream of fresh listings to build a following off of. I’ve even managed to negotiate a deal with the auction house whereby I will charge them $0.05 every time someone clicks on of their advertisements. This will give me an income stream that I can reinvest into future advertising and development of this section.

    FREE OFFER
I've created a PPC affiliate based program that I wanted to run by everyone. For those of you that run auctions and/or online stores I would like to work with your site to develop a ftp upload program that will allow you to post every item that you sell on my website for FREE! This means that every time you update your inventory you can add your listing to my classifieds section with no listing costs and no limit to the number of items you list.

Here is another bonus... unlike craigslist where you can not put links to eBay items or some websites... I will allow any and all back links to where every you item is for sale. This can be an eBay auction or to your sites storefront.

    What will this cost?
The site makes money if and only if someone finds your ad and opens it. The fees start as low as $0.05 per click. You will get a monthly list of click IP Address so you can be guaranteed to avoid fake clicks.

Is this a service anyone would use? If not... why... If yes... what other services would you like to see?

I'm only going to bump this once. I seem to be having a hard time getting feedback on here these days. Can someone please beat up this idea and tell me what I'm missing. My favorite thing about this site is that people have a variety of experiences and opinions so share them PLEASE. What do you all think of this idea?

This is probably a service I would use (if I was selling consumer products online). Because you provide the IP Addresses, I would feel safer using your program than another program where fake clicks are a concern (not to point any fingers...Google).

Is there a limit on the number of times I can update my inventory per week? When I update my inventory would my listing go to the top of the page, if it is the most recent update? How would you prevent people from taking advantage of this by constantly changing their listing to maintain a space at the top of the results?

Our script was created so that the newest post will show up first. We have a spam filter that catches duplicate entries (or similar entries). If a poster was to continually post similar listings I would have to rely on the sites users to report them (as craigslist does).

In order for posters to be able to put up a back link in their listing they will have to register for an affiliate program. This is how we will track the number of clicks per link given. This will give some transparency to the number of times a certain link is used. Still I'm not going to have someone who is constantly looking at the ads. It will be up the users to report abuse so we can weed out the people not following the TOS.

    Thank you for the feedback!

So you are charging $0.05 per click whenever someone views a seller's listing?

My personal opinion is I'd rather list on Craigslist (for me as an individual) as they already have a very large user base and it's free. If you want to attract someone who has a large inventory, they probably already have a website, and I would think they'd rather pay $0.05 per Google click to get someone on their site (which can lead to them viewing many items), rather then paying $0.05 per click to view a single item.
Just seems like it is too expensive to view a single item that will not generate any branding for them when you can pay the same for Google and get someone to see their entire brand on their website.

My suggestion is to focus on a non-saturated niche and try to build up a user base that lists on your site (and give it to them for free for the first 3 months to use your site) so that you can get listings on your site. Let them see that your site has value and those listings will help attract consumers to visit your site. I don't think you'd have much success monetizing this right off the bat. Just my $0.02.

You would not be paying $.05 for someone to view a single product. They would be viewing your whole inventory, right Roger?

I like your idea. Since you have good contact with autos its good idea start with that. Your money making idea should work; only you gonna need to build some good traffic first. Good luck to your venture.
