I have this domain name with a lot of ideas for it, but nothing set in stone. Before I go through with one of my plans, anybody have any great thoughts for what Collegelivin' could be used for on the web?

my initial thought was either a. porn type page, b. facebook style knockoff with a twist, c. college review, d. other informative page relating to college parties

Life in college maybe, where you give like whats its like in college etc, the parties are liek and he costs etc. You do this for a few colleges and get people from those areas to recommend places to visit etc too

I welcome any enthusiasts who are in the general area to come up with a collab project for this great site name. It's really wide open and I have the funding to undertake a reasonable small scale project. I'm just shooting off blanks as to what would be best.

no porn, unless you know hot and willing girls, or else too much work.
no facebook style site, no one will use it, cause they are all useing facebook
no college review cause no one will take it seriously unless your a well know person of some sort.

info on college life is probably your best bet. have info on all college and univercity in your area.
info like yes parties, events and so on... like fun things college students would be intrested in.
and make it so people can sign up and log in and post their own parties and events and so on.. so like have a section thats sort of like a student bulliten board. but you would have to becareful with that and have a team to screen all posted bullitens.

I first thought of a blog. Or my friends and I came up with a facebook SORT of thing with a HUGE and really interesting twist, that hasn't been done before.

I'm open for cranking out some site in the near future with a partner. I'm frankly surprised that the name was even available. My first thought actually was that it could end up being a collegehumor.com type of site, but that requires a lot of constantly updating content (videos, pictures, games). I'm leaning toward a meetup type site, a college posting site, or simply something done already but with the twist.

I like the idea of adding the schools facebook style and letting users come in and review the apartments or adding some twists to the rough model. A good guide students can go to so they can get help picking the right school. Let current students report the true ins and outs of the college.

College Prowler is doing something similar, but creating print books. Online has an obvious advantage.

i'm working on something similar for alternative institutions......... seems like a good idea to me.

I really like this idea. I just got out of college, and I was a huge party/frat guy, and I know a lot of college kids now have video camera's and would be very interested to share their party videos. I doubt there is a good website they can share videos geared toward college students. I don't believe you can share videos using facebook.

Marketing - You could also provide recommendation on video cameras and software for uploading and editing videos.

Another Idea: A College guide for guys. This would be mainly geared toward new college males. It will go through, the do's and don't of college including: When to buy books, what clothes to wear, sexual, partys, Join a frat don't join a frat. I guess it will be a lot like Maxim but geared toward younger college kids. The one thing you would need would be someone whom has had success at college, including social and academic.
