why would i want to stop using craigslist, and move to yours?
afterall, i have no problems with craigs, and i wont move easily..
The problem I find with the major sites like craigs is, they service only major centers. I am going to include smaller cities, as small as 40,000. Rss updates which most do not do. A $2.00 highlight feature so ads stand out against the thousands. I want the pages more community oriented. Will you move now?
Nope, thats not good enough. Millions are on craigs, im not going to pay for anything, especially when theres no posts to "stand out" against.
Still not moving, what else you got?
I would not. People have to register on the site to post an ad. I clicked on the post ad link, and the second I saw that I had to register I closed the window.
A Quitter never wins, and a Winner never quits.
I would use it ......... if there wasn't a Craigslist.

Submit Free American classifieds, Totally free Canadian online classified ads
It looks like they do, please explain. Also, im still not convinced to change to yours, what else
filling out the form gives enough information to the end user so they can respond. Not a registration form. Your email and password are used so you can easily edit your ads or upload your photo at a later date, with craigs you have to save your email to get back in. If your inbox looks like mine forget it. Plus seeing the image with the title "unlike" craigs means you don't have to fish through hundreds of ads (when it gets to that point) wasting your time looking at things you don't want.
How bout now...gonna switch

no, too minisical (sp?) 'differences' for me to change.
youre not really solving a problem. coming this late into the online classified games, you really need to solve a big problem current users of other sites have.
Then tell me what problems you have with other sites...I found they were difficult to navigate.craigs for example has just way too much on the home page.perhaps an email to you with a daily visit count to see how your ad is doing.Or perhaps an email when something you are searching for gets posted.
Keep it coming you will switch I can feel it.
Why not find a niche instead for your classified? You might be more successful getting a larger percentage of a smaller market than taking on craigslist headon.
You hit the nail on the head...That is exacltly what I am trying to do by including smaller cities. You shouldn't have to look at the city near you that has 300,000 people and be overwhelmed. Why not post on a page that services your city with only 50,000 people?
Anything I should add?
p.s clickable maps are coming so you don't have to scan through all of the cities listed a java index will pop up to make nav easier.
these little tiny things like JS links isnt enough to get people over. this obviously isnt that big of a problem to them. so your edge is to get smaller cities/towns?
They got a craigslist in York, PA, not exactly your booming metropolis.
What I meant was cater to a niche market. One of the shortcomings with craigslist is that it is too general. What if I'm an 'enter your something here' buff and I have something every 'enter your something here' buff wants. Do I want to place a general ad and get lost in the mix, or post to a place that caters to that niche?
Ok you lost me...that sounds like a search function to me. If someone wants what you have they can search the database to find that keyword in your ad. If you mean something different let me know. Anything that will help would be appreciated.
