Would You Use Our Business?

Many of us have either traded in their old phone or thought about it.

If you have traded it in, you know that you generally have to wait 10 to 14-days for payment or even more.

We are launching a business that provides same day cash payment via PayPal and giftrocket.com which allows customers to redeem via Paypal, bank account transfer or check. Having payment options is important to the customer, right?

My question is, if you had a phone that was worth $60 but you had to wait for 10 to 14-days for payment, would you use our business instead and accept $55 but get paid the same-day?

Just fishing for some thoughts/feedback on the board. We've done surveys before but this is always the main question.

Are you paying before the phone is actually received? Or paying same day as received?

Yes we are, for PayPal verified members. We will use PayPal resolution service for any cases with significant misrepresentation or fruad and we've been very satisfied in the past using their services.

Out of a few hundred phones sold on eBay, we had only TWO cases with verified PayPal members that went to resolution via PayPal.

I think it's a good idea, as long as others aren't already doing that. Now if I can just find all my old cellphones :-)

Thanks. To our knowledge, and we search almost daily, no other business is doing this. We not only offer same-day payments but we consistently go out into the market place and show the customer what the average trade-in price is from other competitors and show them that our offers are above the industry average PLUS giving them same-day payment. So we are trying to add value all the way around, not just based on same-day payments. Our soft-launch will include 75-80 phones on or around Feb. 1st. We won't beging marketing and other related activities until later in March though. We plan to have approximately 125 to 150 used phone models by June 1st. Thanks again for the feedback!

Sounds like you are on the fast track to a great business. Congrats! When the site is up and fully functional please post your link so we can all use your service. Nothing better than getting paid for an old phone you aren't using. Brilliant idea.

Thanks. Verified PayPal members get same-day payments. We have a verification process in place that we are fine-tuning and adding about 25 more phone models. We hope to be back up no later than Feb. 1st. Our first customers in January proved to be both exciting and we learned some valuable tips. Everyone seemed to be more than satisfied.
