Would anyone actually read/buy my ebook?

Ive heard e-books are a great way of marketing businesses, as you can sponsor the e-book and other things like that to get your name on it. I was thinking of writing my own e-book and then obviously this would be free marketing for my business when I put the name on it.

However, I need to think realistically, I'm 19 years old and obviously haven't done much in my life so far. I think I have a lot of interesting stuff to say, interesting stories about my life (both in and out of business) so far and have also started two businesses. I would obviously include stuff about what I hoped for the future too.

The plan would be to write a 50-100 page e-book and sell it for either just £0.49 or £0.99, after all, it's not really money making I'm after, it's the marketing. What I want to know is a few things...

    1) Would you or other people actually pay for it?
    2) Would the marketing benefits be high?
    3) Would it be best offering the book for free and using it simply as a marketing tool, or offer it for an even lower price than £0.49?

    Thanks, all help is appreciated.

All I want to know is whether you think people would buy it, and whether it would be worth the time writing it. Honest answers are fine - and I really don't mind constructive criticism.

    Hi Milkerz.

    Several things:

    1. Have you identified your niche? Who is your target customer?

    2. An ebook you should either sell for good money - like 15gbp or above, or just give out for free in exchange for name and email. If you choose the latter, make sure you have a good offer so people would be willing to opt-in.

    3. Your being 19 years old has nothing to do with the value of your ebook, unless you are teaching people how to live their lives. Chances are, you teach a particular part of business or something like that. Even if you're not totally competent, you can do your due diligence - some research - and publish that in your ebook.

    4. If you really want to succeed in business, you must be willing to try things that have no guarantee of working. If you intend to sell the ebook, it may not sell. If you intend to give it away, chances are there is a way to make that work.

    Hope this helps.

Sorry, just to clear up: the ebook is just about me, an e-autobiography if you were. I've identified a lot of things, and the idea of the e-book is primarily to promote my business with its name being on the title page or something, this is why I don't mind it being really cheap or even free.

Oh, and the fact that I'm 19 and that it's an autobiography sort of thing is why I have my concerns...

    Milkerz,

If you were to write an ebook that solves a problem or, at least, educates your prospect, in other words - provides some tangible value, it would have a much higher chances of distribution, whether for free or for a fee.
