Working with Venture Capitalists?

I am working on a project with a close friend that will require around $25,000 in seed capital for start-up. I was just wondering if any of you have had experience with venture capitalists and if they would even consider investments that are this small? Also, how much do they like to see you contributing to the project to prove your commitment and what sorts of %'s do they generally expect in return for their capital? Any advice would be much appreciated. We are both based in Toronto, Canada, so if you know of any VC's in the area please feel free to recommend. Thanks in advance.

John.

no, everything, 10x in 2-5 years, rick segal

advice: the words you are using suggest a lack of knowledge on how small business finance works. if you wanna get things done, read through a text-book on the subject. i really don't know where you picked up the word "venture capitalist". It's not a word that has any relevance to your needs. I'd really like to see you use words like "trade credit" and "customer finance".
