Working with a new Web Programmer/Developer

    Hello,

I am one of the heads of a new arising E-commerce. We are getting ready to take our next step and begin development of our web platform. I have already found many web designers/programmers that I have found viable to work on my platform.

My question is, what is my next step if I work with one of these web developers? I have not filled legal paperwork for my company, is that something I should do? How would I potentially sign these developers into my company? Are there certain legal paperwork I need to do with them? Any other concerns I should have?

I will be having these developers join my team. In terms of compensation it would possibly either be for equity in the company or salary based work.

    Thank You,

    Ramandeep Sidhu

Pay them... don't give them part of the company.. one its a bad idea (in most cases)... two no developer worth anything will give their work away for free (again in most cases). If you are designing a basic site there is no need for 'paperwork' the only exception would be if you are developing some type of code that does not already exist (doubtfully).

Your next step would be to write an RFP that you will give to potential developers so that they can bid on your project. This should be as detailed as possible. The biggest problems I've had with projects is that I didn't outline exactly what I wanted in great enough detail. This has cost me a ton of time and money. Develop a good RFP and the rest will be easy.

yeh you shd not give them part of u r equity ..that might benifit them more that it will to you......first you should have your own quotation....with the terms and conditions of yours...then may be
if you will finalize your vendore then you can ask the vendor to sign it and so do u after he will sign......and then you can start working...
