Will this new community work?

Good Day,

Interested to see if the members here think this new community will work called PeopleBrainstorm.com. It is in a beta version at the moment. Simply put, it's a place where people come to brainstorm, collaborate and create real businesses that are put up by People Brainstorm. There is currently a beta project on the board that is a real company and has a real budget to spend. In the future with the full version early next year the members will be able to invest in these companies along with seek salary positions to run these companies. The community will determine the direction, etc. It's an evolving concept that can go many directions and we're interested in your feedback.

Interested to hear what you think.

I see you crossposted this in another subforum. Just note I replied in the other thread (this being similar to crowdsourcing and all), in the "Young Entrepreneur Lounge".

really cool concept, and your description really conveyed what your idea is all about.

the only criticism i can come up with is that the website is sort of difficult to navigate. its very professional looking, but not obvious about where the viewer is supposed to go once at the homepage

I think you have a really cool idea. Be careful when you talk about it to others, you don't want to give your whole idea away right away. IMHO.

I would join the site if you created it. IF you build it "I" will come

yep, did this before
it was called "the business experiment"
..and then there was that website that burnt through $2mill trying to get people to vote on "business ideas"...can't remember the name now...they were calling this stuff crowdware...and then there was that "you be the vc" disaster etc

anyways, these things all end in tears for very simple reasons
these communities don't occur naturally offline (unlike groups of classmates, for example), and crowds suck at making complex decisions
in other words, even if you can somehow put together this unnatural community, you'll probably fail in keeping the community going...in the same way that other communities like this have failed before

i know, it sucks, but that's the way it is

p.s. ppl, why are you supportive of this? look at the history of this stuff. there is no reason to think that it would work. i think you should all put your money where your mouth is.
