Wiki Future

After reading an article on wikipedia reference the recession and where people think the US economy is going to be in 20 years, I had an idea. A wikipedia for future predictions. So, for instance, I thought that by 2019 a global currency would occur. I would then go to wikifuture.com or some such domain and right up a page stating what had happened in 2019 as though it were 2019 and not actually 2008. Then, as the year 2019 rolled around in real life we could compare the wiki pages on futurewiki.com to the actual wikipedia.org.

For instance, if I was to look up 2008 US recession on wikifuture here is what I might find "US Recession 2008-2011 - With subprime mortgages now having caught up to the Bush administration, Bear Sterns, JP Morgan, and the Lehman Brothers have all filed bankruptcy amidst controversy over the Fed subsidizing their losses. This caused great unrest and led to China taking over as the richest country in the world." (keep in mind this is just hypothetical and not my actual opinion of what is going to happen). Then in 2011 we check what the actual situation was and maybe have a link on the website to the people who's predictions were correct.

There is one other site already called future.wikia.com which has pages predicting the future. But my wiki would be in the present tense, as though it were actually happening the moment someone wrote it. It would also be checked for accuracy once the actual date of the article occured.

Let me know what you guys think.

If it is like wiki, then everybody would be editing the major pages and changing them to their predictions. Some people believe the world will end before 2019 too....It would be really hard to organize the information where it all fits together..

I like the idea, but it would be really hard to make it were it makes sense.

I like the idea but where is your primary source of income? What solution are you providing consumers?

I realize that Wikipedia is mainly a non-profit organization without ads, however I plan to put adsense and banners etc...I agree with "new member (post 2)" and am thinking about not calling it a wiki, only because it isn't one page edited by users, users will be editing many of their own pages. I'll look into a little more and see what I come up with. The idea just popped into my head this morning so it's still in need of a little brainstorming. Anything from some creative members of YE would be much appreciated.
