Why you need a forum on your site

Hey Everyone,

I have been a forum moderator for a while now on various forums.

I even get paid to moderate from home.

I just started a service offering forum (online community planning, implementation and moderation) for small companies and non-profits.

Here is an article I wrote on the topic 10 Reasons Your Company Needs an Online Community : Webmediarite.com - a bit wordy. What do you think?

What would be the best way to get the word out about what I do? I thought of putting together 2-3 community plans for free to build some credibility and post them on my site as a portfolio.

Any other suggestions?

You can start writing articles on forum moderation or community building and publish them around the Internet. I think you should participate at TheAdminZone.com as well, which is a forum where most forum admins gather on the Internet.

Another way that you can do, since you are targeting small business owners, is to surf around company sites or small business websites and shortlist sites that you think have potential to build a community. Start locally. Give them a call (yes, cold calling) to see whether they are interested.
