    After losing billions of dollars of investors' money, Amaranth founder Nick Maounis is trying to start a new firm.

    According to a report in The Wall Street Journal, Maounis is teaming up with former colleagues to start a money management business. The firm will either manage money directly or help advise other funds.

    Wow, that's kind of scary....granted, he did not make the mistake, but he was stupid enough to hire the fellow who did! I wish him the best, but I don't think it will be pretty.

    Canada would be the same way. That's why we both lag behind the US in GDP per capita, productivity, etc.

    Exactly! There must be some form of accountability, and I'm not seeing that here. Though this is a free country, and he is free to do whatever he pleases, the large-scale financial ruin created under his watch should not occur without some sort of consequences.

    Well i wish him all the best, Someone lese also did it as well and is now managing a $2 billion hedgefund (in that article) so i dont see why he can't as well.
