Arrow Why Facebook Apps make more money than Blogs

As far as I have found, there are several reasons:

1. Massive amounts of traffic/users are at Facebook already, and these users are going there to fill empty time in their day. This means they are looking for entertainment in the form of social exchange, interaction, games, etc.. all of which are things applications can provide.

2. Users search for applications on FB. I don't know about you all, but I don't think I've ever found myself (or ever will) searching through a blog index. I doubt many others would do that too. Applications can easily grow by hundreds of new users per day without any promotion.

3. A properly designed Facebook app will work for you! What if your blog created organic backlinks by itself? That would be pretty sweet, huh? Well Facebook applications that are designed to utilize the platform's mini-feed notification system do this! Whenever someone uses the application, it will send out "mini-feed notifications" to all of their friends, which is basically a link to your app that shows up on the first page they see when they log in to Facebook! You can imagine the viral effect this has once you have a decent amount of users sending links to their friends, who in turn send links to their friends and so on...

4. There are at least as many, and probably a lot more ways to monetize a FB app than a blog. You can throw up traditional CPM or PPC ads, run CPA ads, get users to complete CPA offers for points, or even charge them. I don't know about you guys, but I've never heard of a blog that people pay to read, and I don't think that'd ever work.... yet here FB users are paying REAL money in applications in exchange for virtual items or turns.

That's all I can think of for now, I will add more later on

And here's a tip for those of you who might have an idea for an app:
Smart design goes a long way in helping your app earn. You may have a great idea for an app, but don't start your planning with a finished product. Think about how you want to monetize your application first, and then build the app you have in mind around your monetization model. You will find fewer apps that fail to earn you as much money as you anticipate this way.

take care everyone, I'll add more later!

peace

There are many entrepreneurial-minded developers out there who would likely help you with your ideas. Be prepared to partner up and share a portion of the possible proceeds, as development requires a lot of time and effort on the part of the programmer.

It is obviously more difficult with the programming needs. I don't think this is very legit, but yes a fortune can be made. It can also be a huge waste of time if done improperly that is why I said not legit.

yeah, we have tons of established applications and ones with no activity/DAU for sale all the time, we also sell turnkey scripts you can edit yourself, but it sounds like it might be too much for you If you are capable of coding or at least understanding HTML though, you can easily handle this...

I'm sorry but you either have no idea what you are talking about, or have been very misinformed. If you are capable of putting up a WP blog or something similar, then you are MORE than capable of installing an app, it's quite simple really and even those with the most basic knowledge can do it..... the key is to start with a good script (like the ones we sell ) so everything will work from the beginning, then you don't even need to look at the code.

I mean honestly 90% of people running WP blogs have never actually looked at their hard code, they administer through the WP backend..... FB apps are essentially the same way, unless of course you WANT to try and code something from scratch... then again, that would be like saying "Screw WP, I'm gonna code my own blogging platform!"...... of course you could, but most people won't.

Either way, I'm just trying to let you guys in on how I've made a LOT of money in the past 6-8 months... you can take it or leave it, the bottom line though, is:

It's easier to earn a LOT of money from a FB app then a blog.

Example: Login | Facebook I launched this application less than 8 days ago, today it hit the $18/day mark, and I haven't promoted it once.... show me your blog that does that please...

Although you are right about one thing, of course it is a waste of time if done improperly, what isn't? There are millions of blogs out there that have only been seen by a handful of people, of course there are ones that make really good money too. This is true of anything you can do to make money....

The point is, is that it's EASIER to do it right with a FB app than a blog, which most people seem to think is a good place to start for trying to make money online.
