    wholesale or retail?

    suppose within one year the net profit is the same, let's say $ 10,000
    you can choose wholesale, sell 10,000 of your products, each of them earn your net profit $1.
    or retail, sell 1000 pieces of products, earn net profit of $10 each.

    which one needs more effort? which one can be a continuous business?

    To many variables missing in your equation...

    consistency of supply
    saturation point in which the product is no longer viable at the given price point
    competition
    overhead

    You need to consider all those points before you can even begin this discussion
