    Wholesale Buying w/o Tax ID

I'm having a tough time trying to buy items wholesale without a Tax ID #. If anyone has any advice as to where I can buy from that doesn't require this- PLEASE let me know. I'd appreciate it!

    Thanks.

If you don't have to give them a tax id, they're not a real wholesaler.

Yes, as a retailer, you are responsible for charging sales tax. You can get one by filling out IRS form SS-4, which can be done online.

If you don't ship within your own state, you don't need to worry about sales tax.

There is way too much tax in this country. Businesses can potentially be liable for municipal tax, county tax, state income tax, state sales tax, federal income tax. Ridiculous.

OK, so if I ship anywhere BUT Florida (my state) I don't have to charge sales tax? But if I do ship in Florida- I do have to charge sales tax? I know how to do this on PayPal/Ebay already so that isn't a problem. But I don't want to go to jail when they send me a tax form next April and I don't have any taxes to report! Argh this is so confusing. Any advice?

correct, you only have to charge tax for shipments within your own state, atleast for now..
