Wink Who Is Your Role Model?

I know entrepreneur's usually have a role model or somebody they wish to be like? I happen to be a fan of Donald Trump and Michael Dell. Who is your role model and why?

    ok...here's my perspective

the etymology of "success" is in "succession", meaning to overcome or replace or replace somebody

so, if you wanna be sucessful, by definition, you're looking for people who you can overcome or replace on your way to the top

can you succeed Dell as the preeminent PC hustler in the world?

    It's not gonna happen

why not pick someone who you can realistrically suceed?

my role model is Stephen Jennings

I don't think role models should be useless....their function should be those of shooting ducks...you aim at the things and take them down

I don't have a role model myself. I look more into the perspective of being me and doing the best that I can with forth effort and determination. I do not wish to overcome the results of someone else as the business world is fiercely fought over between competitors. Instead of fighting to win customer's we need to sometimes put away the "biz battle" and network. Yup... I said network because with networking we can create new innovative idea's to help develop the sector of business we are into.

Now, on the other hand I have "inspirations" and "support." But having a role model is not in my category, I respect every entrepreneur out there who takes having a successful business seriously and wants to achieve the dream of building a more stable community/world. That's my role model (or motto, whichever you prefer to take it as.)

    Role model?

Well I guess I don't have one exact role model. It's more like a mixture of the people I respect and/or love. My fionce is a huge source of inspiration for me and in many ways she is my biggest role model - But if we do need to talk business (which we probably do ;-)) then I would have to say Martin Thorborg - Danish entrepreneur guru.. I've worked for him on a couple of occasions, I fairly regularly speak with him and I highly respect him..

But other than that I don't have any role models I've never met or never worked with..

I don't have a role model. I like what Charles Barkley said once. The NBA was cracking down on the players to be more of a role model for kids. Charles Barkley argued back that being a role model isn't his job it's the kids fathers job.

Sure I respect people like Donald Trump and Warren Buffet.. But I don't base my life off them. Why have a role model I've personally never met?

My personal Role Model is a local Entrepreneur who bought a lowly franchise and grew it to be one of the Top 10 National Firms in the country within 30 years.

My big picture Role Model is Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Computers, who was later fired from his own company, survived cancer, and started a new company from scratch (Pixar) only to be bought out and re-hired by Apple... If you've never heard his Graduation Speach, you have to read it as it's very inspirational (link)

Understand that a role model isn't like Santa Claus or something - you can't choose to believe or not believe in role models. Just in case you're off on your definition (I think you might be), here is the Dictionary.com definition for role model:

    role model
    –noun
a person whose behavior, example, or success is or can be emulated by others, esp. by younger people.
    [Origin: 1955–60]
    Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1)

My role models are my parents, my Biology teacher in High School and Dr. Cacho.

I don't know why but I simply want to be like them.

    Zoobie you rule.

The answer to the question is ... myself.
I am my own role model.

Fist you need to understand i not going to argue with you. when I say I don't believe in something it means just that. I don't like the whole idea of role models. That is what I mean when I say I don't believe in them. I'm not saying I don't believe they exist. there is a difference. so next time you try to challenge me at least know what your talking about kid.

    thanks. good luck.
