I'm on facebook but I haven't necessarily found it too useful with advertising. Has anyone?

I build a page, but haven't seen much from it. I am optimistic, and feel that in things like this you need to put forth some effort as that if it explodes, you want to have laid the groundwork. But I don't put a lot of time into it.....although Facebook allows you to automate updates, and you can track some stats.

Again...potential, but no immediate results yet.

I'm on there too, but haven't really found much use for it yet. I am sure I am missing the boat or something so don't take my word for it.

I'm not. Don't ever plan to be. I already waste enough time perusing forums (although forums like this have been very helpful).

Plus, I would feel obligated to add people that want to be 'friends', even if I wasn't particularly fond of them, because I would feel rude to reject the request. If I wasn't close enough to keep in touch with someone in real life, chances are that I am not really interested in them getting back in touch with me.

I'm on it, but have only signed up as I haven't really had time to work on the page and getting it correct (and I couldn't figure it out). I have been concentrating on myspace which is working rather well so far. In between I'm also working on fanbox, which I'm getting i'd say 5 people a day wanting to "be my fan" lol. one day I had 10. it's hard to set up, and I have yet to figure out how to post any comments on it.

I set up a facebook page for my business (seperate to my own personal one)

Check it out here - AtLarge Nutrition | Facebook

I tend to update it from time to time and update my fans. Haven;t really seen many referrals from it yet though.. A few though.

    Interested to hear others thoughts.

Oh and the link at the top of this thread didn;t work!

It's an amazing thing, but you really shouldn't transact business on FaceBook, or Myspace, or any other social networking platform. As it has been mentioned already, you need to put in the work to develop a "subscriber base", make your page more business if you need to, but get the subscriber base then begin deepening each relationship.

Everything is a numbers game and it's humorous when folks tell me, well I'm not in FaceBook to have the big numbers, yet in the same breath express their dislike for that advertising model.

From the entrepreneur perspective, it's like friends with benefits - a viral growth marketplace that you can tap anytime and it's free.. /end nobrainer

I'd love to hook up with any of you on FaceBook or MySpace, both have been producing great relationships, education and yes, over time - results, for several of my ventures.

You can get the links to my social networking pages from my blog - the link is link in sig.

Has anybody found facebook as a useful advertising tool? Personally I ignore most of the adverts on the site and think using their group/ event feature would be more effective, but honestly I have not tried so I am unsure.
