It's interesting that you mention Donald Trump. One might argue that he is not an entrepreneur, since his real estate success came out of assuming his father's already-successful company, but another might argue that the growth of his empire to include many other areas of business definitely is definitely entrepreneurial. My opinion: You BET he's an entrepreneur, even IF he started out with more than most will ever dream of having.

You've asked for celebrity entrepreneurs; I am assuming that they first became celebrities and then successful entrepreneurs, not successful businesspersons and then became celebrities, right?

    Here are some names,

Morgan Freeman, Robert Redford, and Prince

    Morgan Freeman

Most people don't know this but, through his production company, Revelations Entertainment (http://www.revelationsent.com), Morgan Freeman is one of the first to cultivate the path of how most Hollywood directors and producers use the Internet and technology to efficiently maximize their motion pictures' profit.

He's the co-founder of ClickStar (ClickStar), a digital movie distribution company.

    Prince

Prince was the first one to use the Internet and technology to release and sell his album via online through his production company, NPG. Because of this achievement, Prince was awarded the lifetime achievement Webby Award for his use of the Internet to distribute music and connect with audiences. Read more here.

    Robert Redford

Robert Redford is the founder of the successful Sundance Film Festival at Sundance Film Festival — Sundance Film Festival

Oprah Winfrey, Michael Dell. Both of them each truly built something grand out of nothing.

    Why Simon Cowell?

He only created a few shows thus far; American Inventor, Americans Got Talent, etc. Simon Cowell is not the creator of American Idol, just in case you got him mixed up with Simon Fuller, the English entrepreneur and creator of the Idol series, including American Idol, Australian Idol, Canadian Idol, and World Idol. Simon Fuller is also the creator and executive producer of the US hit talent series So You Think You Can Dance and several other US and European TV shows. He is manager of David and Victoria Beckham, Claudia Schiffer, Annie Lennox, The Spice Girls and others.

Simon Cowell? I won't refer him as an entrepreneur, but just a hard working guy.

I could have sworn I saw the word "celebrity" somewhere.

True Celebrity turned entrepreneur: Jay-Z & sean combs should be on the list.

Actually ... he conceived the original idea. Simon Fuller is just the producer. You might want to look him up and see all that he has accomplished.
