What kind of business? This question cannot be answered unless you define what kind of business do you mean.

Suppose if you want to sell BMW cars then it is better to open showroom in a metropolitan city rather than a small town. If you want to sell small and cheap consumer products then it is better to do this in small cities and town. i think so

Depends on what type of business you're considering starting. For instance, the natural gas/oil drilling boom in the Dakotas has helped many entrepreneurs "who offer services related to the oil/natural gas industry". But to reap the benefit, those business owners had to be physically located in that area.
An online business? Well, I'd say that can be run/started/operated from anywhere...

Not easy to answer that question, with recession, only few areas offer small business incentives unlike before during the good times. The internet would be the best place to start up a business...

It is not easy to give the right answer. I guess it depends on the business that you want to start and looking forward to establish. First you do market research and find out the gender and age where you wish to target. Also select the area where you want to establish your business.

In my opinion warehousing business is a good option in UK as rise of demand is there and good modern warehouses are required with good processing so as to provide good Logistics Solutions.

The best answer is asking yourself where you want to spend most of your days. It's about finding a need in that particular location and creating a business from it. That's the only way to make it sustainable in any area you'll choose.
