I prefer Wordpress, but blogger.com is also a great resource.

Take a look at my links below. ImperiaEvents.com is a self-hosted Wordpress blog, but it'll give you an idea of what you can do with the service.

Honestly go to Godaddy and sign up for the wordpress hosting.. its like $6 a month. Then have them walk you thru setting up your wordpress site. (they will happily do this for you)

You will have way more options by getting a self hosted blog as opposed to a free one.

By the way i am giving away TONS OF FREE lessons on how to make money online which i used to sell online for thousands of dollars just a few years ago. Just go to the blog linked below in my sig and sign up on the email list.

Lots of great tips on setting up the blog and more importantly profiting off of that blog.

WordPress is a great option. Many free hosting providers also offer free script installers which include the WordPress software and other blog packages.

There was always a shortage of themes for blogspot. Now there is one site wordpresstoblogger.com which makes themes from existing wordpress themes. They were charging just $10 and that too after they delivered.

Wordpress is a very user friendly blog complete with lots of plugin and template to choose.
However, you have to host your own blog.

If you are a beginner, i suggest to use Blogger / Blogspot just to get the blogging experience & feeling. You can install widget, template for free but need some experience in coding..

You can transfer from Blogger to Wordpress later on by exporting & importing all your articles in few clicks..

Not sure about your domain name ? We can help you to Suggest Domain ..over 500 domains to choose

I would support the comments from rpermana. If you want to blog on your laptop or PC then both Blogger and Wordpress are relatively easy to use. Wordpress does allow for customisation through a range of different settings and options. There is also Typepad which is another popular blogging platform and could be worth your consideration.

It also depends on what your blogging about. For example if you want to blog about travel or blog about parenting then many corporate websites have existing platforms within their sites which can host your blog.

    Hope this helps,

WordPress.org is definitely the answer! You remain in FULL control and can edit any aspect of the code/database. If you have no idea what you're doing then use a WordPress install app from your hosting CP - but it's not all that complex a process to setup for yourself from scratch.

Now, if you're talking about landing pages, you can actually setup a template just for them in WordPress! I mean this platform is one of the best, hands down, period!

Here's a great article on setting up your WordPress from scratch.

If you are purely looking to get traffic and drive it out to other landing pages or affiliate offers, and you don't want to advertise on your site or customize it to the max, then blogger.com and wordpress.com are sufficient - I almost never recommend them except for the power in the account API!

It doesn't take a lot to learn how to do WordPress installs from scratch.

I'll post a tutorial on my blog when I finish editing it. Hope that helps!

    Best Blog

Since I installed Firefox on my laptop I have been taking more notice of page rankings. If your blog is for business purposes then maybe you should do the same with a few blog sites before you decide where to go.
