Believe it or not, collating newspapers is how I'm raising money to start my business.

I basically just called up local newspaper companies and told them I would collate their papers for less than they currently pay (collating is putting different sections of the newspaper into the plastic bag they come in, boring as hell, but very profitable).

Two newspaper companies allotted about five thousand papers a piece to me, per week. I make $00.22 per paper I do (On average most newspapers pay $00.31 per paper). I'm making roughly $1700/week after taxes by doing this, and it takes me about three hours a day, Monday through Friday.

Actually thinking about it now, I guess this is my first business.

Bootstrap funding stories are like porn to me. To hear of a company that succeed by skimming by and great news. Just a quick story CostCo was started on credit cards before investment came rolling in. These guys must of had some good credit limits.

Everyone seems to be an expert in something these days. Whether it’s technology, social media, fitness, foreclosures…I’m pretty sure this explosive growth of authority figures is pretty universal among industries.

My guess as to why is not just because people are looking for an edge, and some sort of competitive advantage, or unique identity that sets them apart, but the rise of citizen journalism and infopreneuring has something to do with it too. Millions of people now publish blogs, they self publish books, give seminars, start new departments for their companies…bottom line, they make money from packaging themselves as such. And more power to them for that!

Without pointing fingers or passing judgment (any further that is), I wanted to start to open a dialogue about what true expertise really means, so we can start holding all of ourselves to a higher standard, or, at very least, some minimal standards. It’s for the good of us all, seriously........................

It is drawing a lot of attention and creating a lot of excitment with the potential for positive change. It is clear the current system of funding is sorely inadequate. There are hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs that have been forced to abandon their dreams for lack of funds. It's time for change!

Hi everyone, this topic of raising money for your business is obviously a hot one. I can tell you, and I would bet Adam and Matthew would agree as well, that the best way to start a business is with no upfront investment at all. The first few businesses I started I did all sorts of things to secure financing. Then, I paid the money back. Later, I got wise and found ways to explore and start businesses with investments under ten bucks. I'll tell you why I had to put 10 bucks out in the first youngentrepreneur.com webinar this January. It's called OPB - The Secret Sauce to Infinite Returns. It isn't some wacked out way of launching. What it is, is a different context from which to view the start up -- it's thinking unconventionally. I'll share 5 businesses you can start for less than 10 dollars. Most likely (but no guarantee), you can find a way to start your business with the same strategy.

Come check it out, you will walk away with a whole new perspective on starting a business. LINK to Sign UP HERE

I'd say doing the lower line work is the best way to make the money. By this I mean, the long boring work that is outsourced. If you were some sort of computer company you could create websites, make some programs, create scripts, or do some SEO work for other people. This will create your funds to start up your site.

There is no end to work needed in those fields if you're willing to do it for the right price. Plus, you will gain experience and contacts who may be interested in your businesses services once you get it set up.

I made my funds online, just need something to put them into.

In my experience, the best way to raise money is by using some of your skills to help people in return for payment. You can find work all day long on odesk.com using your specialist skills and talents :-)

What is the best way to raise money?

It depends really, there are different ways of fund raising activities. You can make a 1-3 days fund raising activity; you could organize a concert coming from local / international bands. These is really a big time fund raising activity that entitles you a 4-6 weeks preparation.

Another way is you can also adopt a community and ask sponsors and in return, their products / services will be promoted in a very simple way.

There are a lot of fund raising activity as long as you just use your imaginations and have the courage to make the first step.

It's all about the drive and the imaginations work together to converted a money making idea.

The best way is to bootstrap!! Or do something like Joint Venturing (and pay only on performance) to eliminate a lot of your initial costs.
