What would you DO? With ur Idea

I was wondering if you had an idea thats just simply adding something to something thats already out there, 1) would you create it with the modifications and sell it....with limited funds and work your way up or 2) Talk to someone at the company that sells the product w/out the modifications and see if you could sell your idea to them or workout some kind of deal, if of course they liked the idea. They have unlimited money and advertising.....a small percentage of the sells would be millions.

This idea violates no patent laws.....you can't even patent this idea.

What would you do...Try and beat them or join them. Its like David and Goliath

Well, if you tell them, they will decline you, steal your idea, and make more money off of it leaving you with nothing.

I don't really know what I would do if I were in your position. Maybe recreate their product (without violating anything) with your add-on and market it. It will be more expensive, but if you really believe in it, go for a loan.

I agree with Chris- don't give away your idea. There's no law that will prevent them from stealing the idea and dumping you. If all people were trustworthy I would suggest cutting a deal with them- but you never know who you can really trust.

Take out a loan, recreate their product, add your new feature and cross your fingers. At this point, the company may contact you and try to "buy" your idea if its enough of a threat.

    Good Luck with everything!

People do not buy ideas... you need to make it a reality... then you'll have a sellable business.. not an idea.

thanks everyone, I was leaning toward option 1, I am already in the process of creating my first sample. I'm keeping it to myself......if they want to talk, they'll have to find me. I don't trust that they would compensate me for my idea....but its more than an idea, its in the works now.

I think the simpliest ideas, can make you rich....the ideas that make you think "I could have thought of that.

"well why didn't you" sure you thought for sure somebody else has done it, but what if they didn't....what if you didn't
