What We Are Doing For Promotion

I just thought I would mention a little about what we are doing and what we have done for promtion on our pixel site. As many of you know our concept is a bit different as these pixel ads will end up printed onto poker cards and distributed freely and we are using traditional offline methods of promoting the website as well as online as far as we know we are the only website of this kind that is heavily promoting offline.

We believe with the right concept and promotion pixel sites can still be a very effective inexpensive way to advertise. So here is what we are currently doing and hope that it may help others come up with some promotional ideas of their own or use these.

We are leaving this evening for the first part of a Canada tour. We are leaving from New Brunswick and will end in Niagara Falls Ontario. We have many promotional items as well as 5000 business cards and 2500 Flyers that we will be passing out that contain a code where if you go to the website you can get a free gift This is basically just to get those that see our flyer or cards to visit the site to reserve their free deck of cards . The van we are using is decorated with the site address and logo and if you see us we will give you a free gift for saying hi...its a maroon Dodge Caravan. We will be promoting heavily once in Niagara Falls as it is a huge tourist spot!

We have sent out 1000 promotional items through direct mail advertising as well as stamping over $5000 in bills with our website address on it and every bill we get on our trip will also be stamped.

What we have already done for promotion is some newspaper ads, flyers, online advertising and we have also sent out over 1000 ad cards that we place in each package of our product that we distribute to retailers worldwide.

What we will be offering next is to include all advertisers website addresses on our ad cards, business cards, newspaper ads, flyers and basically in any offline advertising we do where we can fit domains and we will continue to do this till all ads are purchased.

If anyone here has a pixel site I hope you might be able to use some of these promotional ideas to generate more traffic to your site. IMO I dont think pixel sites are no longer effective it just takes a bit of creative promotion and not so much focus on trying to make a million dollars...invest a little or throw some back for offline methods of marketing so your advertisers will be assured of recieving the most exposure of unique quality traffic both online and off.

Great ideas and works you have there Oldpreneur. One of my personal favriote that I tend to do about twice a month is my Ice Cold Water Days.

I am in the skateboard industry and what I tend to do is set up a tent right outside of a skatepark with my website domain on it. Now I don't know what defines a website as a pixel site. But what I do is set up all my products up underneath the tent and take out a survey. Everyone who fills out this simple 3 question survey gets a free ice cold bottle of water! Everyone loves it expecially in this kind of weather.

Well we made it to Niagara aftera stop over in Montreal, Niagara is a nice place but expensive...paid $15.00 for a fricken cheeseburger at Planet Hollywood. I find this place is prime for entrepreneurs and if I lived here it would not be hard to make some serious cash.

Promotion is going well...weare out of free gifts so now we are giving away cash to anyone who recognizes us...not much cash buta little something anyway....we have only had 2 people come up who recognized the domain on the van...but at least I know the name is getting out
