I have jokingly talked about starting a business like this for over a year. The company I work for has offices all over the city centre and one of them is above a bed shop. We have laughed about calling this a meeting room and being able to book a bedfor an hour at lunch. I have no idea if it would work, but there have been many times where I haved needed such a facility!

Metro Nap Pos
Cool Concept and I think it would work quite well in the Asian markets where they are truly working LONG hours, especially in Japan and Korea (from my travelling experiences).
These pods are not inexpensive to buy, $8,000 each if you wanted one in your own home.
But there per visit rate is reasonable to catch some shut eye!
Yes, this would be included in the hospitality industry.

thanks BizGuy, thats what I thought, just wasnt sure.
What do you guys think about using that same concept in an airport, and then adding an oxygen bar, so the customers can breath "flavored" oxygen while they nap?

'power naps' pre-flight
I like this idea and think that they already have this in the Narita airport in Japan.
It would be important to set these up at airports with alot of international flights.

Ha
I like the idea although i don't understand why anybody would waste $8000 to buy nothing more than a glorified 'sleeping chair' and put it in their home. Isn't that what La-z-Boy is for?
I would love to be able to go to work and sleep comfortably for a couple of minutes or so. I'd use it there. I could definately see this working in airports too....

I have been talking to people at Salt Lake International Airport, they wont allow these in their airport yet because they have had no passenger requests for them.

Kind of disappointing that they're not fully enclosed!
Doesn't seem to fit two people, eh?

Wow this is a pretty cool product...IF you can afford one.
$8,000 is a heap of money.
That's like a million dollar canadian!
($12, 000)
That's half of most people's wages!
This isn't a bad product but it lacks in it's market direction.
For one companies don't want employees to sleep.
They want to squeeze the most work out of them.
Two the cost is stupendous, companies could or would not buy one for every employee.
The product would be better directed at the fat cats or top management.
Also why not just let employees sleep at their desks with a pillow and regular chair?
I think the product would be better geared toward to upper management, and maybe for home use by the upper-middle class or the lower-upper class.
But I like the product.
The website doesn't provide so much information.
Is it a pay-thing? Do you need to put money in?
That might be a different story.
"MetroNaps makes chairs specifically for Home and Office use. For the cost of one business trip, you can boost your entire office’s productivity. Or, invest in the chair for a stylish addition to your home."
ha that goes totally against the "rich-dad" philosophy. If you bought it for your home it's not an investment.

Currently the only place they have these is in the Empire State Building.
They cost $14 for a 20 min. nap. You can also order food from there deli, and have it ready and waiting for you when you wake up.

Hi Harry,
Actually many studies have shown that a short 20-30 minute nap at mid-day can significantly boost productivity. For obvious reasons some managers have a tough time implementing that at their offices (it does seem counter-productive).
At a medium-sized or large company a bed like that which could be used by multiple employees is not a bad investment. However, I can see where the cost would be a barrier to smaller businesses.
