What to do in idle time?

I'm having trouble finding work to do in my idle time.

Things that I sometimes do are email companies about my business, deliver leaflets and research new marketing methods.

However, these things are extremely tedious so I need new ideas with what I could do to promote my business and earn money whilst I'm in my idle time. I'm not really into cold calling.

    Thanks,
    Luke

I dont have any work that I need to outsource because all of my work is simply passing details onto my clients. And Ricardo, by that do you mean that I should just stick with tedious marketing strategies? What do you suggest?

My suggestion would be dont have all your eggs in one basket,if you are going through a slack time you could look at starting up another website so that if one niche/product or service slackens off you could have some other revenue source, just a quick example if you have a gardening website we are all aware that has say a 7-8 month window when sales are at a peak but then the rest of the time revenue is nearly zero so you would then say start up a toy website for the christmas period. The theory being as one site drops off the other one comes on stream.

Only a suggestion but it could be a way forward for you.

My ideal time is only like a couple of hours each working day so I don't really want to start a new business up, but thanks for the idea.

Just as an update, I've decided to take this comment on board:

I am going to be using any spare time I have to email businesses. I think over the next fortnight I should have about 50 hours of idle time whereby I aim to increase my site views by about 350-700% and aim to increase my signups by at least 100% as a minimum.

I know it is going to be tedious and extremely frustrating at times but I suppose it has got to be done.

Just to clear up any confusion, I meant idle time in one business but wanted to improve my efficiency in the same business by doing something worthwhile with my idle time.
