    What to blog about?

    Hi fellas,

I've read that its a good idea to compliment your business with a blog for the purpose of findablilty thru its content.

But I'm curious...how much can u blog about a particular subject (say personal finance) everyday? Sooner or later I'd run out of topic to write about.

    Any comments on this?

well you can find links to other financial sites and post them. You can set up with Google to recieve emails when others post stories or articles on the internet about finances( then you can post a link to those articles), the opportunities are endless, you just have to think about what you readers are going to be interested in. It may be hard at first but once you get experience, then there are enough of stories out there that you can blog about on your site or articles you may relate to and then can post a link and some of your own info. to the article.

Hope this helps, I understand where you are coming from bc I felt the same way but I am doing it okay.

    Good luck.

how do you make money from blogs? I would assume adsense. what else?

Bemyownboss, do you recommend using other ppl's articles from sites like articlecity.com, where the articles are free to reprint?

blog is about what you go through or what you have done - blog about personal finance that you inquired about or have read about and how you use that tactic to help yourself

take a look at my blog - tho its not updated everyday

its fine to use other articles to grow your sites content for the purpose of SEO also. article city contentmart are great sites to use - chose specific ones and ones that interest you and have great content

If you feel like you don't have anything to write about enough that people will routinely visit your blog, my advice would be NOT TO BLOG.

Blogging is becoming one of those things, that because a handful of people have found success at, everyone is doing, hoping they'll be successful too. The result? Some 20 Million (I said MILLION) blogs out there, 99.9% of which aren't being read by anyone (including my own).

My partner and I (two females) are doing it for two reasons: a, we couldn't find any blogs about females who started internet businesses and b, we wanted a way where we could both see what the other person was feeling (so we both have the ability to author it)... because we thought it'd be funny to wake up one morning and see her rant about my dumb emails, or my rant about her getting all of topic in one of our "brain storming sessions". A way for us to let off steam, and keep moving forward, rather than tucking our feelings in and acting like everything is always "all good".

Are people reading it? A FEW (and when I say FEW, I mean a few). Are we trying to make money with it? No. That's not why we did it.

So back to the point - blog if you WANT to. If you're doing it for $$ purposes, and don't think it will be interesting or useful to anyone, then it probably won't...so don't do it.

If you still want to blog - get creative. Take a look at www.indexed.blogspot.com. Talk about a different approach... but drawing attention nonetheless.

You know what's interesting - should your business take off and be somewhat successful (or noticeable) - THAT will drive more people to your blog than in reverse. What we're realizing? No one wants to read about something that we hope is successful. People will LOVE to read about something and someone that IS successful and how they DID it.

    sounds like

you've got writers block or blog block.... or whatever you call it before you've even started.

if you took the term "personal finance" and really thought about it - i'm sure, without doubt, that you could manage to write, at least 52 articles a year. when it comes to writing, you can just multiply what you write by simply looking at your previous blogs or what others write. it's like music - musicians have been writing about "love" for....ooohhh over 1000 years or more. the possibilities are endless.

    but

you have to be able to write well and draw people into your content. if you can't do that - then you're wasting your time. i think a good looking, well developed website can help.

    best of luck!

Its best to not just bind yourself to one topic, but instead expand to a few "related" topics of related niche markets so you are able to hit more audience and also get better SEO for different keywords.

For example, if your main topic is about personal finance, you can expand on that and talk about "saving" or "personal investments". Another thing is to comment on current affairs relating to thoes topics, as this changes every day (or every hour or every week) you will have plenty to talk about.

You may want to blog atleast every 3 days. I am guessing you are blogging for the search engine and not really for users so the frequency does not need to be too high, however make sure that when you do blog, it is a quality blog entry and not just something you spent 5 minutes on.
