What steps does it take to own my own business?

Alright, I am only 15 and yes, I realize that I have a lot of time to even consider a real job, but I would like to know how would I come about owning my own salon when I am older. It is my dream to own my own salon and for business class, I have even chose a hair salon for my pretend business plan project. Anyways, what I am asking is what should I study in college, what steps should I do etc, etc, etc.

    hi..welcome
sure, if you wanna do a hair salon, there's a well trodden, sure fire way to get there
    normally, it works like this..

    1. you wake up tomorrow and enroll at a technical school and do a course on hair dressing
    2. you take a part time job at another salon
    3. at school, and at your work, you're gonna make friends with people who are also gonna want to work for them selves
    4. after a few years, by the time you're 20 or so, you would have worked for many different employers and would have made many friends, you would have also had enough time to travel, drop out, drop back in again, see life from a different perspective and decide whether you still wanna do hair dressing
    5. if you still wanna do hair dressing, you'll get in touch with some of your friends, put together your savings, max out your credit cards, lease out a shop and start cutting hair for your friends, family and the local community in your area
    6. after a year or so, some of the friends may have dropped out, other people would have joined the business, your revenues would have been increasing and you will start thinking about expansion
    7. at this stage, you'll apply for a business loan, open up another store, hire more employees and start spending less time on the shop floor your self
    8. at some stage, you'll want to take some time off and explore what else life has on offer, you'll then sell your share of the business to your business partner and sail off into the Whitsundays

    that's pretty much the steps..

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! I couldn't have put that better myself. But I think you forget to add the drama from the boyfriend that will undoubtedly step in to leach off of your drive, ambition and possibly your bank account.

The schooling part is what confuses me most, how do I start, what do I need to think about, etc? (Yess, once again I realize I'm only 15 and I have plentyyy of time to think about it but jeez I've been thinking about this since I was 12. V_V; ). What happens if I mess up in high school and I do not get a very well cumulative GPA (I'm talking about maybe 3.0), is my dream over? Will I not have a chancee, ahhh I need help. I want to own my own hair salons sooo badly, I love the feeling of cutting hair and it makes me so happy. Tehe, I sound like a creep, anyway, can someone answer my mountain of questions, pleasee?
