Lightbulb What is your opinion about this?

Hey guys, how are you doing? I just signed up for my account and was reading lots of posts today, for about 4 hours. There is very good stuff out there!

OK, here is my opinion about the Internet and ways to make money on it.
Businesses and commerce go through evolution, as everything else, and (according to Darwin) you adapt or you don't survive.

I think Internet brings huge possibilities of growth and networking. How else can I find hundreds of suppliers, customers, and other entrepreneurs to network with in a matter of minutes?

But we don't have to forget what building a business is about: creating value for our customers! We have to know our customers, ask them what they want, and provide them with that, better than anybody else, giving them something different that could increase their life quality.

The reason I am saying this is because I see so many people (specially here), who think that just because they have a website (or 10) they have a business. And they work for pennies with things like Google AdSense, affiliate systems, MLM, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against that. If you are doing that, you already took the first step, you had the courage of getting out there to do something different! That is great, you should be proud of yourself. But if you did that, I am sure you can do much better than that!

Here is a little advice: take one day off, walk arond your neighborhood, talk to people, ask them what their dreams are (and take notes: is that something you can make true?), listen to their complaints (lines too long on the grocery store? how about a more personalized one? or more cashiers? how about a system that automatically scans the bar code of the items on their cart? just ideas), ask them what part of their days they hate more (if they hate folding their clothes, how about an automatic clothes-folder), etc.

Take that day off, walk around, talk to people. I can almost promise you that you will write down more than 10 ideas. Write down even the stupidest ones!
Then ask for feedback, pre-select 3 of them, talk to more people, ask them what they think. And do the due-dilligence, where you will find out if your good idea actually makes good business sense.

Then write down an action plan (everything you have to do to get that business ready to go: business plan, find vendors, build website, hire employees, find investors, etc.). And here is the most important thing: start doing stuff! Remember that a long list of things to do won't become a running business by itself!

Hope it helps, here I am for anything you need!

    Zeke
    You create your own reality!
