What is the best way to promote your online business?

I know many of us have the same questions. I have an online business, which is starting to pick up and get good feedback, but promotion is hard...what have you all done to promote your businesses?

Google Adwords? Facebook Ads? YouTube? What other ideas?

I use fiverr(dot)com. I can find people to do social advertising for $5.
That and I've done Facebook Ads before. They didn't do much for me.

SEO is perhaps the most important aspect of promoting your online business. Other ways to promote your business include promoting your business on local search engines like Google Places, Yahoo local, and Bing. Submitting your site to key directories is also important. Start a blog on your website, constantly updating it with relevant content will help drive traffic to your site. Become part of the Social Media community and start interacting with people helping you build relationships and a network.

Well.Any method is the best methods depends on how it works for you.A method that works for one site need not work for another. Its matter of discretion depending how of a method works for you.For Search Engine Optimization, which is very competitive, you need to consider unique content on your website.Build links from topical sites.Build up social brand through social media and press releases.Get the first client sooner, though you need to subsidize the price. Testimonials can get you orders sooner. Most important thing is doing a bit of research at the beginning to know where are your potential clients are online.

I agree with this Gary Barzel, These are all proven and can be done with effective results.

I also agree with with this Elsoft, Sometimes what's been a successful method applied to one site does not mean it applies to all. Every website, people, products and services differ from every aspect.

well, when it comes to promotion, specially virtually, SEO is the best way to do. Like what they said, this is what we commonly do for our businesses and sites. And we are getting quite impressive results from doing SEO. Best technique for a business is social bookmarking, social networking and classified ad posting or forum ads posting.
