What I would like to hear just once!!!!

I love reading posts on YE. Some for education but many more for entertainment. To all of you thinking about starting a business I salute your efforts and wish you great success. I have to ask one thing. For all the posts I see about people with $10K and looking to start a business. Or to the people who post saying they want to start their own business so they can work from home or be their own boss. I want just one person to say:

“I’m ready to work my ass off 16 hours a day 7 days a week. Does anyone have a business idea for me?”

If someone was to post that I would give them my full support and answer every question they have about getting started.

I’m not a genius by far, but I’ve navigated the start up process and I’m on pace to do $2M in sales this year (with current clients) and I have the potential to do $10M in sales this year if I land a client that is finally getting close to signing with me. July 1st, 2008 will be my 2 year anniversary. It didn’t take money to do what I did. It didn’t take luck. It took every ounce of energy I had every single day.

    I’m rambling now…

There are plenty of examples of people who made it big with out having to give everything they have. The reality is that they are a very small group.

Now before you rush off to make a post with what I said above I really ask that you think about it. Are you ready to make that kind of commitment? In the last two years I got divorced, I moved away from my friends and family, and I’ve had a hell of a time meeting anyone who can put up with my work schedule.

Other then that stop with all the damn posts about going into business for yourself so you can work less or be your own boss. And please for the love of god if you have money to invest in a business be realistic. You’re not going to create a successful business just because you have money to throw around. A business is WORK plain and simple.

Sorry to make a post like this… but hell ya’ll are driving me a little crazy!

    Spot on man!

W-O-R-K is more important than getting funding, or having money to invest.
Always looking for a private lender...paying 14% ROI.

Great post, and I totally agree with you. That's why, often, I use YE to get aesthetic feedback from my site, and just learning about the ideas people have, but when it comes to actually running my business (an effort that takes way more time than I actually have, lol) I don't really expect much advice. I think how I'm approaching my business is pretty different than a lot of people on this site anyway but it's fun to see how everyone else is using the internet to make (or how they think they can use the internet to make) money.
