Men and women are made equal. So I guess, each gender needs to boost confidence and skills to be successful!

A confident and charismatic speaker would do the trick..it would not hurt to be a good look either.

Passion and interest in business is one key for being a successful female entrepreneur.

Why do things that you don't like?

There are many factors to be considered like your degree of experience.

Women can be more creative, idealistic, and innovative.

Women entrepreneurs can be as good as men in the business world.

Firstly, leadership skills of course and then confidence. I think with oodles of confidence and maybe a decent knowledge in the area, one can really do great.
Risk Analytics is an important factor when stepping into emerging markets.

I quite agree with you Larke, for a successful leader where is a place of sex.The qualities of a successful entrepreneur is completely inner sight and that’s a natural ability .I am really surprised over the thought why they make a difference of gender .There is a large list of examples where women alone has established a venture.

As a female entrepreneur you must be S.M.A.R.T.

S - specific, you must set specific goals for your business
M - measurable, can you acheive this goals in time or on time?
A - attainable, are these goals easy to achieve, if not change plans!
R - Result oriented, all goals must arrive to a result, if not, thats not a good goal.
T - time, are these goals for a long period of time or short period?

    I HOPE THESE HELPS!

I think that some of the qualities that make a person successful, whether you are a female or male are
Desire and passion - you have to have a burning desire to achieve what you want - this gives you the motivation to keep going when things get hard.
Perseverance and commitment - not giving up when things aren't going well, but rather taking another route. Many entrepreneurs give up too soon and if you read the biographies of successful entrepreneurs, they all had to persevere and persevere and persevere!
Focus, discipline and hard work - Unless you are one in a million, most of us have to be disciplined and do things even though we don't want to sometimes. There is a story behind every success and most of them include working hard to get to where they are.
Confidence - You have to believe in yourself and what you doing, if not, nobody else will
Lastly - I would say - staying positive, develop the skills you need and develop a mindset that is geared for success!!

I haven't read this whole thread and I'm not going to get in the middle of whatever this is, but...

I'd say don't focus on the fact of being women. You're asking this question as if women have less chance of being successful. No, it's the same for both genders. Just don't concentrate on this fact; men don't focus that they are "male entrepreneurs", right?

Are you guys out of your minds? What piece of advice here doesn't work for men? "Focusing" only benefits women entrepreneurs? Stop victimizing women, they have the same opportunities as men but aren't as interested in pursuing business when they can have kids (which means survival). Men on the other hand needs to be successful to survive (having money to provide for wife and kids). So let women do what they want instead of pushing them into the idea that they aren't enough if they don't go down the 80 hour working week as entrepreneurs.

S.M.A.R.T. are what goals and objectives should be, it is a strategic leadership concept and it is for all business leaders.

As some here have pointed out, almost all the advice given is just plain leadership advice for ANY person. I think women should focus on what they want and go for it without hindering themselves. Most of the barriers that women face come from self-consciousness that produces lack of confidence and paranoid work behaviour, and they need to just get them out of their heads in my opinion.

Great contest. It is hard being involved in Entrepreneurial endeavors, especially for a woman.
