A female entrepreneur is said to be successful when they won't let any obstacles get their way. Plus they give any business approach and problems with much grace and patience that only a woman can. Some very successful businesswoman are devoted mothers and wives, and that makes them more amazing and strong individuals. Once they set goals for themselves, they'll go the extra mile just to achieve them.

Female entrepreneurs are not different from other entrepreneurs when it comes to their potential in achieving their goals. Being female is not a hindrance for them and never will be.

I am a female inventor.....For many years women were not even allowed to file for a patent. So in the business I am in, being a "Female Inventor" is very exciting.

However, I had to work just as hard as any man to get where I am. The company that licensed my product is a HUGE company, one of the largest in the housewares industry in fact. I do not think they cared one way or another if I was male or female, but they loved my idea. I think it is pretty much the same for everyone and it takes, hard work, dedication, honesty, professionalism, and a lot of drive to do this whether you are male or female.

I was featured in the USPTO's Inventors Eye Article as the female inventor in 2011. Yayyyyy!!!

Just google "Lesia Farmer Inventor" and the article is called "Spark of Genius"

I think it takes hard work and determination, and a little help from veterans in the business field along the way.

I very much believe that openness to anything that may come our way is a great key to anyone's success. We obviously can't deny that this world is pretty much set to think that women goes second after men, but this should not be taken as an offense. Instead, what matters here is how we, women, perceive this "fact" and what we do about it.

Everyday is a challenge for everybody, men and women alike, and to be successful in our own aspirations and dreams we just have to be open to learn from each and everyone. The willingness to try and fail will bring us all closer to what we want to achieve in life. We just got to find that focus and hold on to our dreams, come what may.

I believe that to be successful overall, not just as a woman, you must know what you want and make sacrifices to get it. You have to be willing to take risks that can make you or break you, but never let it actually break you; instead learn from it and keep going. You must be a go getter and not be afraid of rejection. You must have a plan and continue to update it as things change within your business. You must have long term goals split up into short term goals in order to stay on track and accomplish them. Sorry if I am getting a little off track, I just got caught up in my words. Good luck with your ventures!

For some reason, society will mistake a woman for not being able to succeed, but I have to say, there are plenty of role models out there that give a woman courage and pride to step forward and make something of herself. If anything a woman overcomes more obstacle and in the end, that makes her a better leader. My hat off to all the women in this forum. Keep pressing forward. Forward motion is the only way....

    Joe
