I think it takes the same basic principles for all entrepreneurs to be successful. It always starts with mindset. Developing a mindset for success, continually learning and growing to expand your comfort zone. The size of your comfort zone is in direct proportion to the size of your success. Successful people will do what unsuccessful people are not willing to.

Woman and men are different, therefore we both have different weak areas. The best tip I can give is as a woman is to not be over accommodating. As women a lot of us are natural care takers - you would be surprised how this can affect how others perceive you. Make sure your not always the one bringing the coffee and doughnuts, running all the errands and so on .... it could make you seem more like an assistant rather than an equal. Also - leave your personal life just that way - personal. All of us girls love a good chat - but keep it out of the office.

I think it is naive to say that there are not preconceived ideas of what roles gender plays in society. It is only natural - woman and men are different - even beyond our reproductive organs. It is scientific fact.

I truly believe that confidence plays a big role. Never for a split second should you think that you're at a disadvantage because of your gender!

I agree with this. For the first year of my business I often thought I needed to be more like a businessMAN than a businesswoman. I quickly found:
    1) Utilizing who you are and your strengths will take you farther than you can imagine. Build your brand around YOU.
2.) Women add a unique 6th sense to business and have instincts that we're more in tuned with. We see/feel what's unwritten.

Both of those things are essential to being a female entrepreneur. But also keep in mind that women in general have to fight harder in business for half the credit. It may not be fair, but it's business and knowing that will help you with your future.

To truly be successful as a female entrepreneur, the first thing you must do is get rid of the label as a "female". I have built a multimillion dollar company in a male dominated field. It does not matter that I am a women. All that really matters is that I have passion, vision, and drive.

I am proud to say I am a women entrepreneur. I feel empowered knowing that I have a corporation, that I have a team of people that look up to me, and that I can change people's lives. And much of my success is attributed to the fact that I am a woman. We are changing the world.

The fact that there is a group with the heading "Women Entrepreneurs" should not be taken negatively. It is only in recent years that women have been using there talent and ingenuity for profit! It is a heading to advocate that more women should become entrepreneurs.

What does it take to be a successful female entrepreneur?

Time - You need to time to research, to make your product, to deliver your product, etc. You also need time to think about what you should do next, how you can help customers, to talk to customers, etc.
Energy - To make the most of the time you have, you need to have the energy to continue working, even when you don't want to. Some would say this takes sheer willpower, others would say you need coffee and/or a healthy lifestyle.
Focus - You need to be willing to focus on the tasks ahead of you. Work is work, not just working for a few hours and expecting everything to handle the rest. YOU need to do the work.
Support - It helps to have the support of friends and family since they're the ones who will be listening to you vent. Often. You also need financial support in some manner.
Flexibility - Your ideas will change, your need will change, and your direction will change. Be open to change and it won't be as scary as it could be.

I'm sure there's plenty more I could say!

Being a female entrepreneur means pushing through any obstacle that comes your way and presevering gracefully. As well as having the confidence to succeed in a male dominating industry. When our company is out and doing promotions they always assume that we are just the promo girls of some guy owner. I remember a time we were at an event, and a guy asked me, "So do you have another job or do you just do promotions?" and I replied that I was the Communications Coordinator for the company and the lady accompanying me was the CFO...needless to say, he looked shocked and said "Well good for y'all!" Come on really?
