What Do You Think of My New Website

I just got my new website for the business up, It is not a ecommerce site as I only try to refer to my local business and not sale anything on line. I taught HTML and CSS myself while working on this project. Seems fairly hard to me. Take a look at it a fill free to use the online chat build into the website to chat with me if I am monitoring.

    The Website URL is:

    Welcome to Campus Technology Solutions!!!

    Thanks,

    Corey

What are the services you offer? Is it website designing company that offers services from a campus?

Well I personally dislike the website design, but I don't think that's what you are looking for.

As for the business model, what advantages do you have over other computer repair / IT services in your area?

    Ok,

I need to make revisions to my website. I plan on doing all of those services but I am going to focus on computer repair at first. I have over seven years experience in this industry and have been reconized through two navy achievment medals for my work with network security. I was thinking of redesigning the website to just focus on the repair aspect and when I am ready I can make a website for each of the other area's can you guys give me some design pointers.

I would seriously consider either hiring a web designer or at least buying and customizing a template. You're going to get an extremely high bounce rate on that site.

I agree with flnazrael. That site's a mess. It looks like it's from the 90s. The layout is very poor. Definitely hire a professional to do the site for you. Your current site won't benefit your business in any way. You may want to contact Lindsay Marsh at Marsh Graphic Designs. She's done a few projects for me and is very good.

Okay guys, I will look into having somebody design it. What are your thought on hiring a computer science student at my school who knows website design. I could pay 8 - 10 dollars an hour and it would be cheaper then a professional company. By the way thanks for the reference Finazrael.

Just buy a template and have them customize it. There are some free templates too, oswd.org, though they're not as good.

You can also get a site down for a few hundred bucks thru 99Designs.com -

I heard today on the radio that computer repair businesses like Geek Squad are WAY up on revenues....

    Good luck!

I noticed that a lot of yeer's have viewed my site.

I would like to express my apperciation that so many people would view and give me advise even if some of it was critical. I had a web guy look at the sight and he said that I should change the colors to more white and it might make the site look alot better. I am currently trying to find a webdesigner to work for me on my site and my clients. I go to a university and their is plenty of computer science guys around. I taught myself html and css so I am definitly a novice but with time and practice I should get better. Thanks again guys.

Well, HTML/CSS are definitely important...but you have to have a design eye too. Don't tlak to computer science guys, talk to graphic art students. Have one work up a website in Photoshop, then splice up the graphics for you, and you can turn that into a webpage.

If you decide not to go with a web designer, but still want a good looking site that won't need to be too complicated, you could go with joomla and buy a template from a joomla template site like rockettheme, or one of the above designers that posted if they happen to make joomla templates.

Thats what I did for one of my sites; however, since rockettheme templates seem so popular tons of sites use them, so at worse you may end up looking like some of the other sites out there.

    Talking simple

that site looks extremely simple. Simple can be good but i'm not sure in this case. What web design program do you use? I have taken many of dreamweavers premade sites and i would just change the theme by adding photos and changing colors to what i want so it would be custom. Well when i was doing that i was first learning on dreamweaver too.
